Great Quality piece

September 03, 2013
When I took it out of the box I could see this is a great part. Excellent S/S polish job. Mounted it up and took it out for a spin. Nice and tight steering again. I do not write reviews but I was impressed enough to do one on this part.
Pros:
  • fit with no problems.
  • show car quality
Yes, I recommend this product.

Well made tie rod end; poor quality rubb

August 31, 2013
The SS metal and polishing is purely top notch. Wish it had a better grade of synthetic rubber. The rubber boot ages way too fast. They checked and cracked in 1.5 years, all during mock-up in the garage. I'd swap the boots if they had a zerk fitting.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Need clarification on the 11/16 threads. The summary page describes this part as "11/16 LH" and the pictures show a male thread. When I click on the part and go to the detail page, the "specs" area describes it as 11/16 RH Female.

Plain Finish Cross Steering Tie Rod End, 11/16-18 LH Threads
(Part #91002999)
Cross steering means the drag link reaches across the car and attaches to the passenger-side steering arm. If that steering arm has only one hole, you'll need to build the tie rod with this tie rod end on the RH side. Then the drag link attaches to the eyelet (which is tapered 1/2 way from both sides.)
  • Not for use with flat steering arms
  • Use only with Ford type steering arms with a tapered hole
  • Not normally used with Chevy spindles

Note: When using the cross steering end, the tube length will need to be 6" shorter than the eye-to-eye length. Example: A 46" kit will need 40" tube length.

Outer Tie Rod End, 11/16-18 LH
(Part #91002919)
Replace those sloppy worn out tie rods with our new replacements. Original equipment on 1948-1964 Ford half-ton pickups, but these can be used on many other applications other than Ford trucks. Not for use with flat steering arms. Use only with Ford type steering arms with a tapered hole. Not normally used with Chevy spindles.

Chrome Tie Rod End, 11/16-18 LH
(Part #91002917)
These tie rod ends are just like our standard Ford 7° taper tie rod ends except they are made of beautifully chrome plated steel. They have 11/16"-18 threads and include hardware. Make sure to use anti-seize on the threads.

Stainless Jam Nut, 11/16 Inch-18 LH NF Fine Thread
(Part #91001159)

If you've got spherical rod ends on your vehicle, you'll probably need jam nuts. You might also need them for tie-rod ends or other types of fittings and connectors. Our jam nuts are made from premium stainless steel and they're available with left hand threads.

These stainless steel fine thread jam nuts are for use with rod ends, heim joints, and clevis.
