As always a good product, [...] from Speedway. I have been a customer for years, and intend on buying from them again. The steering box is a great product and fit perfect in my application, on a T BUCKET.
Replaced traditional steering on my 32 ford with vega cross steering. It made a big differance. Easy installation. Just wished the spacers were already welded to mounting bracket.
it works and has great clearences and the bracket it nice that you can add the spacers yourself have seen soom brackets that come with spacers on the wrong side but not this one

What is the recommended tighening torque on the pitman arm nut? Is box shipped with gear lube installed?
Asked on 4/19/2011 1:42:19 PM by Bondo Bob from Livermore Ky.
The Vega box DOES come shipped with lube. The splined output shaft is tapered and the nut should be torqued at 80-85 pounds. The pitman arm DOES have a top and bottom to accommodate the taper on the output shaft. It does come with the nut and lock washer included.

how do i know where to mount the bracket/box? thanks
Asked on 9/11/2011 11:31:08 PM by joe from albany,ny
Mount location varies on the application, engine used, and other related facts. On the T bucket the Vega box is mounted fairly well forward at 7” from the center line of the tube front cross member. With the specific application we may be able to make some suggestions. Normally the box mount sits just ahead of the motor mounts and hangs down below the frame with only one box mount bolt actually going through the frame itself. You may want to check the photos of our various frames for some insight into the mount location.
