What's in the Box

High torque, high output motors and gear reduction drive design spins the engine over faster, with 50% more cranking torque and LESS amp draw than a stock starter! Compact, offset design gives more header and chassis clearance. Fits most 289, 302, 351W and 351C with automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission, except with the 164 tooth manual transmission flywheel. Cannot be indexed.

Notes

  1. This starter is smaller in diameter for improved header clearance and is mandatory with our Small Block Ford Tight Fit Headers such as 9300201, 9300201C and 9300201H.

Specs

  • Starter measures approximately 6-1/2" from the bellhousing mount surface to the front end
  • The main starter body is approximately 3" in diameter
  • The solenoid adds about 2-1/2" to that, but only in the area of the solenoid

Warranties

Powermaster's warranty is one year from the date of purchase on all
street rod components, and 90 days for any component use for an off road or race application.  

Powermaster will provide all warranty service and technical support
regarding warranty claims and inquiries directly to the purchaser to
resolve any warranty claims or necessary technical support for warranty
resolution.  Speedway Motors is not able to service, warranty, or
replace any unit that has a warranty consideration.  As such, the
component or components are to be returned to Powermaster and not to
Speedway Motors.  

All customers service inquiries pertaining to warranty and defect claims

Any Powermaster product that is returned directly to Speedway Motors
that is not in a new condition, and that is being returned for warranty
replacement or refund consideration will be immediately forwarded on to
Powermaster from Speedway Motors on behalf of the purchaser with no
further action taken until received by Powermaster.  Powermaster will
then will provide both the purchaser and Speedway Motors with final
resolution as to the warranty claim.

The new DynaForce Starter is designed to crank over the highest compression engines on a hot day in Death Valley. Not that too many race cars are sitting in Death Valley, but it’s good to know that you have the oomph to make it happen. The DynaForce Starter features all new components beginning with a three horsepower motor. This power is used to crank over the reduced 4.4:1 gear set to deliver great torque to the engine’s ring gear to get the engine turning. The armature is balanced during assembly and is guided by two ball bearings for smooth engagement and thousands of starts. The downsized housing clears most headers and oil pans, but just in case, we made the billet mount so it can be clocked in different positions to help in tight applications. The assembly is powder coated MSD red and will stay looking good, even though it’s underneath your car.

Fits Small Block Ford 289, 302, 351W, and 5.0L with automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission.

Powermaster's MasterTorque Series gear reduction starters have a 1.4 Kw motor that cranks out 180 ft.-lbs. of torque. Fits Small Block Ford 289-302-351 with an automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission. Also works well with Speedway Flathead-to-C4 Automatic Conversion (910-28906).
