High torque, high output motors and gear reduction drive design spins the engine over faster, with 50% more cranking torque and LESS amp draw than a stock starter! Compact, offset design gives more header and chassis clearance. Perfect for high compression or supercharged Chevy engines.

Straight mount 6061-T6 aluminum mounting plates work with 153 or 168 tooth flywheels on Chevy V8 or 90° V6. Works on blocks with angle bolt starter flange by drilling and tapping one hole. 

Only 1-1/2 lb. heavier and 1" longer than the 1.4 kW version.

good quality piece

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

this is a great option for factory size ring gears. could use a design improvement on the trigger connection from the spade plug to a more secure srcew connection.

Small size high torque

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

At a good price [...] this compact starter fit the bill. With ease of installation it provided adequate header and oil pan clearance. The engine cranked instantly due to low starter current draw and fast turn over, it is a good problem solver.

Very unhappy

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

starter mountin block was mismachined. Had to have machine shop turn mounting block down .100" just to get teeth to mesh correctly. Ruined a prefectly good lightweight flexplate due to this problem by breaking off two teeth on flexplate. After machining block down using a .015" shim the teeth mesh perfectly as far as bindix being thrown out and teeth alignment mesh.

Customer Service Response

Speedway Customer Service refunded this customer for the cost of the new flexplate he purchased.
