Great Quality, Great Value, from a premi

March 16, 2015
Every weekend whether at the track or watching a race on TV, there are only a handful of racing safety equipment makers you see all the top drivers wear: Simpson, Alpinestars, Bell, Impact, and Sparco. When I started looking for a new driver's suit to go micro sprint racing this year I wasn't going to go cheap and sacrifice my own safety, but couldn't afford the best of the best either. Wow was I thrilled to be able to buy a brand new Sparco 3 layer suit for $199.00. As soon as you put it on you can tell it is a well made suit constructed with quality materials. It may not be the most current version of the Jade line of driving suits, but you won't find a better suit for this price.
Pros:
  • quality value and fit
Cons:
  • wish it were a lighter blue not navy blue/purple
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Suit Option and Solid Fire Protect

May 12, 2014
This is a high quality suit. Great level of fire protection for the price. I would definitely recommend this fire suit. One of our driver vehicles caught on fire and the suit kept him well protected...it wasn't even damaged. Received awesome customer service from Speedway. Some of the sizes ordered were much smaller than the sizing chart shown, so had to send back a few and order a larger size. Otherwise, great product!
Pros:
  • great fire protection!
  • great professional look for a solid price.
Cons:
  • thick fabric makes it hot in warm temperatures.
  • sizes run smaller than chart shows.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent product and price.

March 21, 2014
I was shocked to be able to purchase a Sparco, 3-layer suit for this price. I have two Sparco suits hanging in my closet that I got for Kart racing and they cost me $300-400 a piece and they are not Nomex. Even though this was a garage sale item, when I received it and the size was off a little, Speedway swapped me out the correct size in a matter of days. Great customer service.
Pros:
  • great price and product
Yes, I recommend this product.

The sizing chart for this Sparco suit can be found here: http://static.speedwaymotors.com/images/charts/Sparco-Suit.jpg It looks like the XL suit will be the closest fit for you due to your height and chest measurements. It will be a little big in the waist but sometimes you will have to sacrifice in one area to gain in another area when looking at suit sizing. A size large may be a little short and snug in the chest, but fit better in the waist.

my size is in between sizes, would it be best to go up to the larger size. Every suit I've had always ran small.

Mine too is an in-between size. I always wore a 54 Sparco in European sizes so I went for a medium but was just a tad too small. I opted for a Large and it was just enough larger to be correct.
May 22, 2013
EricM
Yes if you fall in between two sizes you will usually want to error toward the larger size. Typically a suit that is slightly too large is easier to deal with or modify than one that is slightly too small.

I was told it is ok to wash at home and to air dry. Seems to work fine with no problems for me.

Sparco recommends dry cleaning your suit to preserve the life of your safety garment for as long as possible. Your Sparco Race suit should be treated with the same respect as your Sunday Suit. After each driving session, please remove the suit whenever possible and hang dry to remove moisture and to prevent grease/oil from staining the suit while working on your car. Washing instructions: If you wash your suit, Sparco recommends hand washing or washing it on a delicate cycle in the washing machine with COLD water. Please make sure that the belt and collar are closed on the suit, to prevent the velcro from causing damage to the nomex fabric. Woolite soap is recommended as it is a non-abrasive detergent. DO NOT use bleach or anything similar. When drying the suit, always let the suit drip dry, indoors (out of the sunlight).
