Customers install these in various ways. When the housing is drilled for their choice of mounting bracket under the mounting bracket another hole is drilled for retaining the bulb socket. The lens originally was held via spring clips that commonly fatigued and allowed the lens to rattle and on occasion fall out. The manufacturer now recommends to run a small bead of silicone around the lens on the back side and allow to dry overnight.
