Nice compact mount system.

September 05, 2013
Compact motor mount to install small ford in any chassis. Easy to install compared to stock style mounts- no angled plates as original style mounts would require. Smaller size than original mount aids in clearance with exhaust and clutch linkage.
Pros:
  • Compact
Yes, I recommend this product.

Used this kit to put a small Ford in a '58 1 Ton in place of the 223. Worked great and couldn't have been easier. Instructions are basic but not hard to sort out what to do.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Well made, [...]

November 25, 2010
Made by Trans-Dapt. The instructions are very rudimentary. Doesn't say how the rubber "biscuits" should be installed, not does it show a diagram of locating the adaptor. The instructions are GENERIC, even though the part is application specific. I'm an experienced builder, so I was able to figure it out pretty easily, but someone who is more of a novice will likely struggle with the instructions.
Pros:
  • Simple
Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm building a 1937 Frod Truck with a 351W. This setup works out great, I just needed to adjust the mount on the motor. Can't make one for the money.

The pickup and the Econoline did not share the same frame platform and the mount kit for the pickup would not be a bolt in.

We apologize but this mount kit is for the small block 289, 302, and 351 Windsor but is not applicable to the 351 Cleveland. Sorry we do not have the mounts needed for your Cleveland.

how do they mounts bolt in? Is this simply a bolt in application? Do I have to measure and drill my own holes? Are there any photos of installed units? Instructions? I am looking for a easy way to install a 289 or 302 into a 1955 f100. Thanks

Depending on the desired location in your 55 pickup you will need to measure and drill 2 holes per side in the frame rails when installing this kit.

This kit may be a good starting point for you but will certainly take some addition fabrication and modification to work in your 1945 International pickup.

We apologize for any confusion but with the variances in the vehicles it would be difficult to make exact instructions. We suggest bolting the engine portion to the block and lowering to the needed height. Then with the frame brackets in hand you can clamp them where desired and mark for drilling. In some cases the frame mount may need to be shortened and re-drilled for the correct width. The same applies to the brackets that bolt to the engine. This front engine mount layout is fairly similar to what yours will look like once completed: http://static.speedwaymotors.com/images/charts/How-EngineMounting.gif

This mount kit is for a small block from later years like the 302 into a 53-64 pickup and will not be a direct bold in for your 51. It could be a start in the fabrication process to put the engine in the desired location but up to the installer for the needed alterations.

you will have to fab the frame side, but it will work

The small block Ford pickup motor mounts will not work unless the engine is slid back considerably, they will collide with the Mustang II cross member. Common mounts used by customers are number 91018045 for the small block Ford with a rear sump pan when installed in a Mustang II style front end.

We apologize but currently we do not list availability of a bolt in motor mount kit for the 52 Ford pickup. To use 7204145 which is intended for the 53-64 you would need to modify the length on the frame and/or motor bracket length as needed.
