Info

If your class or budget does not allow aluminum or stainless roller rocker arms, check out these steel roller tip rockers. Made from 4340 heat treated chromoly steel, they feature a longer slot to eliminate stud bind issues. Plus, the roller tip minimizes scrubbing (the result of the valve stem pushing hard against the valve guide), reducing friction and freeing up an additional 15 to 30 horsepower over stock rockers.

  • 4340 steel rocker body
  • Adds up to 30 HP over stock rockers
  • Excellent replacement for stock or sportsman engines
  • Eliminates noise & slop associated with worn or high mileage rockers
  • Includes polylocks and grooved balls

Application

  • 262 V-8
  • 265 V-8 1955-1957
  • 267 V-8 1979-1982
  • 283 V-8 1957-1967
  • 302 V-8 1967-1968
  • 305 V-8 1976-2000
  • 307 V-8 1968-1973
  • 327 V-8 1962-1969
  • 350 V-8 1967-2000
  • 400 V-8 1970-1980

Look very nice, performing great so far. Very fast shipping

June 18, 2016
I was installing new valve seals in my Monte SS. I wanted to add some kind of upgrade while I was in there. Installed well and look to have perfect tip contact with stock push rod length and pressed studs. I used my stock OE locking nuts instead of the polylocks because of stock valve cover clearence concern, I only have about 50 miles on them so far but I am very happy.
Pros:
  • Very Quiet Operation
  • Nice Fit And Finish
Cons:
  • None So Far
Yes, I recommend this product.

Problem with fitment.

April 13, 2016
Ordered the roller tip rocker set with new balls and poly locks. The poly locks were too short to use the set screw. I have part # 577RM348 screw in studs and they were too long to use the set screw. I tried one arm setup on a stock set of press in studs and they were too short for them also. Called your tech support and they were lost when I explained the problem. The locks need to be approx. .070 in. longer and you don't sell them. Come on guys!!!!
Pros:
  • Good Looking Rockers
Cons:
  • Poly Lock Problem
No, I would not recommend this product.

Yes, these will work fine with flat tappet cam. You will want to check push rod length to make sure it is correct when changing rocker arms

These particular rockers are not self aligning and will not fit the stock Vortec head. Our part numbers 57533519 and 57533521 are self aligning and will work with the Vortec head.

Good Day Folks! I would like to know if these rockers would provide good longivity with valve spring pressure of 330 pound open? I would like to purchase them for my circle track car. What are the maximum spring pressures they were designed for? Thank you

With a spring that has only 330 pounds of force when the valve is open, these rockers should be a nice fit and offer you excellent longevity. These are designed for a stock car/sportsman type engine application and should work well for you. I would feel comfortable using these rockers on a spring as high as 385 pounds of force with the valve open, but would not recommend them for any springs stiffer than that.

If you are going to a 1.5 rocker you should be ok with the stock length pushrods. You may want to mount these rockers and check your length with a pushrod checker (#50542137 or 50542132) to make sure the geometry stays the same.

You can use what ever rocker ratio you want but this may change pushrod length again. Pushrod length will need to be checked with what ever set of rockers you choose.

These rocker arms will work fine with stock small block Chevy heads and that camshaft. In many cases you will need to use a second set of rocker arm balls such as 9151792 (or a stock set of balls) and install them upside down on top of the supplied rocker arm balls. This is necessary in some applications so that the included poly-locks can be used. Also it is suggested to convert to screw in studs or pin the stock studs when using a high lift camshaft such as 915110691.
