very well made header.

October 10, 2014
these headers fit my 37 chevy coupe perfectly, have nice thick flanges, really nice welds. the only thing I did not care for was the somewhat small angled collectors as I am going for more of a gasser theme. it was no problem to simply cut them off and weld on universal 3" collectors .perfect!
Pros:
  • Very Well made
Cons:
  • somewhat small collector
Yes, I recommend this product.

Fits Modified 49-54 Chevy's Cars

June 11, 2014
I installed these on my 1950 Chevy car with a small block. They will NOT FIT with the stock front suspension or stock steering column and steering box. . You must test fit these headers for this application. Engine placement is critical if you are using an aftermarket mustang ll suspension. Parcel front body mount removal is necessary to obtain front wheel turning clearance with mustang ll suspensions. If you are using a straight axle front suspension I see no problems and no body mount trimming should be necessary. Engine placement is not as critical either.
Pros:
  • Good Quality
Cons:
  • i wish they 3" collectors but the 2.5 work great
Yes, I recommend this product.

Rat Rod Project

April 28, 2014
I bought these headers for a rat rod project, hoping they would fit without any mods. The drivers side header hit the wheel. So I swapped the headers (left to right) and they come up instead of down ward. Looks cool and they clear the wheel and the steering shaft.
Yes, I recommend this product.

You can't go wrong for the money

February 28, 2014
Here it is with no fluff. The headers are a great value for the price. They are a bit small @ 2 1/2" collector. I'd like to see them with a 1 7/8 primary and a 3" collector. The passenger header was a inch closer to the ground (which I didn't like at all) but all in all, a good buy for the cash.
Pros:
  • value and quality
Cons:
  • tubes to small
Yes, I recommend this product.

These fat fendered fenderwell headers are basically designed for the vehicles with the solid axle suspension and the tubes leave the engine perpendicularly straight out over the frame and then configure down and back. When the suspension is changed to an independent style with upper control arms many times there are clearance issues. If you have the engine in the car straight out from the heads you will need to berify the tubes will clear the suspension. If not then you will need to go with a fenderwell style such as 930C4. On these the primaries leave the head and go up approximately 9” and then out and angle down and back.

The fat fender headers number 9300150 are for the earlier solid axle cars from 35-48 but have been used on other applications. They are not the standard fenderwell style headers used on independent suspension vehicles such as your S10. At the second bend after leaving the head and about 6” out there is 2” drop in the tubes. This commonly runs into the upper control arm and steering on vehicles such as your S10. What you may want to consider is the actual fender well headers for independent suspension vehicles such as number 930C9 for a small block application.

Currently Speedway does not have a listing for each vehicle and engine mounted locations available. Verification of fit can be obtained when comparing your application to the following dimensions and chart. * Primary Tube Diameter: 1-5/8" * Collector Diameter: 2-1/2" * Header Flange Type: Round Port * Gasket Ports: 1-7/8" x 1-3/8" * Base of flange to bottom of collector is 9" * At approximately 6" from flange at 2nd bend, there is about 2" of drop from flange * At approximately 15" from flange at 3rd bend, there is about 4" of drop from flange Width of header at widest point from exhaust port - 19" Height of header from top of flange to lowest point - 11-1/4" Length of header from front of flange to collector - 27" Collector size - 2.5"

These headers work with the standard port small block Chevy including the Vortec. They do not work with the LS series engines 99 and up where the ports are evenly spaced. Work with straight or angle plug heads.

The dimension from cylinder head outward to the farthest point is 19". From highest point to lowest point overall is 11 1/4". Overall length from start of port flange to end of collector flange is 27". Rectangular ports are no problem and will work with angle plug heads. Due to variations in manufacturing and the unlimited engine / chassis combination\'s, all dimensions, applications, and measurements are approximations only.

You inquired about a set of headers under part number 9300150 and fit on a 53 Chevy pickup with a small block V8. These are referred to as a fender well header for the fat fendered cars of the 35-48 vintage but have been used on others. Unlike other fender well headers once leaving the head they do not curve upward and then outward for steering gear and frame clearance as do our other fender well headers. We do have some specifications and with a little homework on your end you should be able to tell if they will work on your truck. • Primary Tube Diameter: 1-5/8" • Collector Diameter: 2-1/2" • Header Flange Type: Round Port • Gasket Ports: 1-7/8" x 1-3/8" • Base of flange to bottom of collector is 9" • At approximately 6" from flange at 2nd bend, there is about 2" of drop from flange We also refer to the A, B, and C dimensions and on our website and in our catalog we have a specification table. The A dimension is how far out from the head the header extends and on this particular header it is at the collector and is 19”. The B dimension is how far down from the top of the header flange and again on this header is at the collector and is 11 ¼”. The C dimension is from the front of the flange to the end of the header and the dimension is 27”. With these dimensions you should be able to determine fit on your truck.
