Speedway Motors now offers a reproduction version of one of the most popular carburetors ever used, the original Stromberg 97! Original equipment on '30s and '40s cars and trucks, the Stromberg 97 has long been favored by flathead hot rodders and racers who realized the performance qualities of this timeless fuel supplier.

There have been numerous attempts to reproduce this unit, with little success. "Speedy" Bill Smith of Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Nebraska, took on the challenge to make a great product even better. The 9 Super 7 ® Carb brings this reproduction of the original Stromberg 97 2 barrel carb into the 21st Century!

Speedway Motors has incorporated all of the improvements shown above while maintaining the carburetor's original look. Features such as the choke assembly, accelerator pump, main jets and cosmetics have all been faithfully retained. Additionally, each carburetor is individually flow tested and inspected for leaks. Perfection is the result! 

Aesthetically, the 9Super7 is nearly identical to the stock unit, minus the large 97 logo that appeared on the side and the patent numbers found on the float bowl area. Upgraded internal parts include; the float, needle, and seat. Jetting and power valve settings remain as they were for the original 97 carbs as well as the cfm and vacuum specs.

The other similarity that the 9 Super 7 shares with the original 97 is the setup and tuning necessary to yield a well-running machine. While perhaps not as simple as bolting on a single four-barrel, the 9 Super 7 makes setting up a multiple carburetor induction system easier than when Strombergs were available new. All that's required is an intake, a linkage system, a Uni-Syn syncing tool, and a little patience. Be sure to include the Secondary 9 Super 7 when installing multi-carb setups. Our 3 Carb kits come with one primary carburetor and two secondary carburetors while the 2 Carb kits are both primary carbs.  See our Multiple Carburetor Tech Tip for more information on using the 9 Super 7 in a 2x2 or 3x2 carb set-up.

On the primary 9 super 7 carb the throttle shaft extends from carb body .983" and has the hole on the end to pin the linkage. There is a brass sleeve that the throttle shaft rotates in that extends from the carb body .400 and this leaves the useable throttle shaft length of .583. There is sufficient room for progressive linkage and the manual throttle linkage that rotates over the sleeve.

This tri power kit uses the Edelbrock C-357-B S/B Chevy 3x2 intake with Speedway's 9 Super 7® carbs. It has progressive linkage to give you good driveability and economy, but power when you need it. The manifold has a balanced 180° firing order port runner arrangement. It contains an exhaust gas heat riser and offers excellent performance potential. (idle-5500 rpm)

Kit includes three carbs, the intake, air cleaners, linkage kit, fuel block, fittings and red fuel line. Assembly required. Fits 1957-1986 Chevy 262-400 c.i.d. small-block Chevys.

    About the only way your 94 could have a tight throttle would be if you found a NOS carb somewhere. Using old worn throttle plates make carbs sluggish and increases your idle speed. Our aluminum throttle plates are for those carbs with out-of-round butterflies.

    Edelbrock has reintroduced the vintage cast aluminum fuel blocks for dual, triple and quad carb applications for your hot rod or custom. This fuel log features a single 3/8" NPT inlet and two 1/4" NPT outlets. Each fuel distribution block has four holes for mounting to a firewall.

These manifolds deliver performance improvements in the 1500-6500 rpm range with Edelbrock Performer Series dual-quad carburetors, and they accept Edelbrock dual-quad accessories including fuel lines, throttle linkage, and air cleaners.

    Includes oil fill tube (not installed) and matching push-in breather cap. Use with dual quad linkage and fuel line at right. Carb center-to-center measurement is 6-7/16".

    Designed for 1955-86 262-400 c.i.d. Chevrolet V8s, the award-winning RPM Air-Gap incorporates the same race-winning technology that's used on the Victor Series competition intakes. The air-gap design features an open air space that separates the runners from the hot engine oil resulting in a cooler, denser charge for more power.

    Manifold features rear water outlets, two distributor clamp locations and nitrous bosses. Accepts all 1976 and later alternator and A/C brackets for the street. The heater outlet boss is angled for proper fit over the valve cover. The temp sensor boss clears all waternecks.

    • For square-bore carburetors only
    • No provision for exhaust-heated chokes and no exhaust crossover
    • Not for 1987 and later cast iron heads
    • Will not fit under stock Corvette hood

This 1950's style six-sided polished aluminum fuel distribution block is designed for four-carb applications. Fuel log is 5" long and has a single 1/4" NPT pipe inlet fittng.
