These tie rod or drag link kits are pre-cut and tapped lengths of 7⁄8" O.D. tubing available multiple lengths. Kits come complete with 11/16" traditional 7° tie rod ends and jam nuts. Tubing will be tapped with right-hand & left-hand threads for adjustability.

Select your length based on the center-to-center of the tie rod ends, which will also be the eye-to-eye distance between the steering arms (the acutal tube will be 3" shorter than length selected). At selected length, the link will be adjustable from 1/2" shorter to 3/4" longer.

Fits aftermarket Mustang II crossmembers. Available in manual or power steering. Mount bushings are included with the Power version, but mount bushings are NOT included in the Manual version.

MANUAL: New manual rack and pinion steering assembly for Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang II based front suspensions in street rods and kit cars. 9/16"-26 spline input shaft. 16" mount centers. 

POWER: Rebuilt power rack from 1982-88 T-bird. Also fits aftermarket Mustang II crossmembers. Bushings included. (Can be used with a Saginaw GM power steering pump without any additional valves or inline pressure regulators). Overall width is 45-1/8" with 15-1/2" mount centers.     You get a new 500 series power steering box, new centerlink, new pitman and idler arm. This is a straight bolt-in conversion, although '58-'60 cars need to order the 910-32582 idler arm adapter. Steering box uses inverted flare fittings, 11/16" fine on the pressure side and 5/8" fine thread on the return side. Has a 3/4" 30-spline input shaft.

    Note:  Some applications require slight modification to the radiator tank to clear the steering box.

    Here's the solution to painful, tiring impulses that the roadway transmits through your steering system. Each end accepts a 3⁄4" DD shaft to allow inline installation between steering column and steering box.

    A steering shaft support heim is recommended near the dampener for the most stable installation. Bright, nickel-plated steel construction. 3⁄4" DD female on one end, 3⁄4" DD male on the other.

    Approximately 1-3/4" O.D. and 4" long end-to-end. Adds approximately 3-1/2" to the length of the shaft.

    Our standard power steering hose assemblies are an inexpensive alternative to the more costly stainless steel braided hose kits. This set adapts a 1982-1988 T-Bird/Cougar rack or our 91034340-POW rack to a GM style pump. Return hose will normally need to be cut to length.

    The pressure line in this kit has an inverted flare fitting at the pump end along with a 14mm O-ring fitting on the rack end. It also comes with an adaptor so that it can work with an O-ring style (metric) pump fitting. We suggest using power steering pumps 91032922-GM or 910-32908.

    Kit includes:

    • Adapter for the GM pump, to allow it to work with both metric O-ring and standard inverted flare style threads on the power steering pump fitting.
    • The fittings that go into the 1982-1988 T-bird rack which are 14mm O-ring (high pressure) and 16mm O-ring (low pressure return) with the smaller O-ring fitting hose end being the pressure side for the rack.

    It is common to use an early GM power steering pump with a Mustang II power rack and pinion. Most who have tried it have found that the steering was twitchy or that it easily darts. This valve reduces the fluid flow from three gallons-per-minute to two gallons-per-minute, which cures the problem. For applications using the O-ring style power steering hoses. Installs in the back side of the pump as shown in the extra photos.

    If converting pump from modern 16mm o-ring to traditional 5/8" inverted flare style hoses, order (1) Adapter Insert 910-32921.
