    The cap and rotor of any ignition system must be considered mainte­nance items. Just as you change the oil and filter of your car, you should always replace the cap and rotor as a set. To make things easy, we now offer these Cap and Rotor Replacement Kits.

    This MSD Cap (MSD #84335) fits all of the MSD Distributors that use the GM Socket sytle cap (MSD #8437). It will also fit GM Distributors that use a "window" style cap. 

    Cap MSD# 8433:

    • DuPont Rynite material
    • Spark plug-style terminals with improved locking connection
    • Optional wire retainer with caps to lock the wires in place
    • HEI-Type terminals, rather than socket-type
    • Can be used in place of the older design

    Rotor MSD# 8467:

    • Standard on most MSD Pro-Billet Distributors
    • Injection molded from Rynite material for incredible strength and high dielectric properties
    • Stainless steel/brass rotor trip - screwed in place to handle extreme rpm and high heat conditions
    • Deep molded vanes to stir up the air inside the cap to prevent spark ionization

                Finally an affordable distributor for you Ford guys! Basically this is a GM HEI distributor that fits 289-302 Fords. It is fully self-contained and requires only one wire to hook-up. No need for an MSD box. NOT compatible with computer controlled vehicles.

    It uses the GM HEI cap, rotor and module, and includes mechanical and vacuum advances. Comes complete as shown.  Shaft diameter of .450".

    Note: This distributor has an O-ring seal that has a VERY tight fit when installing for the first time. We suggest using a small amount of lithium grease or silicone lubricant on this seal to ease installation.

    You can't go wrong with the best selling MSD Billet Distributor! The housing is machined from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminum on a state-of-the-art CNC machine producing exact tolerances. For high rpm stability, a .500” steel shaft is supported by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and resistance to corrosion. A precision machined reluctor is attached to the shaft which triggers the magnetic pick-up mounted in the housing. This high output magnetic pick-up is the most accurate way to trigger your ignition. Plus, with no moving parts to wear or adjust, the pick-up is maintenance free! Just above the pick-up is MSD’s adjustable mechanical advance assembly. Different springs and stop bushings are supplied so you can tune an advance curve to match your application.

Ignitor III systems produce multiple sparks through the entire RPM range, but DO NOT require an external ignition "box." Plus, the Ignitor III module has an adaptive dwell feature which maintains peak energy throughout the entire RPM range.

    1. Does NOT have provisions for a vacuum advance. 
    2. Can be used with most ignition coils 0.6 Ohms or greater.
    3. For 12 volt negative ground systems. Requires 12-14 Volts.
    4. Must use suppression spiral core ignition wires (not solid core wires).

    MSD's Billet 351W Distributor is for Ford enthusiasts who are serious about performance! Just under the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor is an easy-to-adjust mechanical advance assembly. The assembly is fine blanked from chro-moly steel, TIG-welded for strength plus receives a QPQ coating. The precision weights glide on nylon bushings for smooth advancement and different springs and stop bushings are supplied so a variety of advance curves can be tuned. The steel shaft that spins the advance and reluctor receives a friction reducing coating plus is guided by a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing.     The Street Pro-Billet is a popular route for people looking for proven race performance for their street cars. A vacuum advance canister provides economy and the proven MSD mechanical advance gives you the opportunity to dial-in a timing curve to fit your needs. Inside, an oversized steel shaft is QPQ-coated for low friction and rides in a sealed ball bearing at the top of the distributor with an extra-long sintered bushing at the bottom. This combination keeps the shaft steady creating accurate spark delivery at any rpm. The Street Pro-Billet relies on a magnetic pick-up to trigger the MSD Ignition Control which delivers the powerful sparks to the coil. This pick-up is extremely accurate and never needs adjusting.
