    Engines without a cam thrust plate must use a cam button spacer when using a roller lifter camshaft to limit lateral movement (cam walk). These horsepower saving needle bearing cam buttons reduce friction and prevent cam walk, inaccurate timing, and premature timing chain wear.

                Speedway Tight Lash cams produce a broad range of power due to the short amount of cam degrees it takes to go from .020" lift to .050" cam lift. This is known as major intensity. The shorter the span the more torque the lobe will produce, and for the lobe to run excellent up at higher RPM, it must have an excellent area under the curve. You can tell these do because of the very high duration at .200" cam lift. 

    Compare our numbers to other cam profiles and you will find that these are far superior!

When ultimate strength is required as with high rpm roller cam applications, the Hi-Tech™ Race Stud is the answer. This stud has a thin jam nut for rocker clearance, rolled threads for maximum contact and a ground-flat top so accurate valve adjustment can be achieved and maintained.     These camshaft / lifter kits are perfect for use with SBC 400 to 427 CID Air Flow Research 220-235 heads. Max power 6300 rpm, Peak torque 3500. This cam was designed for 1.6 ratio rockers to be used with the AFR heads. The increase lifter velocity maximizes the fill rate of these heads on large stroke engines from 3.75 to 4.00". The cam will maximize RAM Effect and fill cylinder for increase VE. Use of 1.750" on engines up to 412CID and 1.875" on engines over 412CID is highly recommended. We recommend a 3200 stall, a 850CFM carb, and a minimum of 10:1 compression.

    These camshaft / lifter kits are perfect for use with BBC 477 to 496 with 4.25" stroke with Air Flow Research 290 or 305 heads to a max of 6000 rpm. Welcome to the brotherhood of 625HP on pump gas with over 640#/ft. This cam will produce over 600HP with a single plane and right at 600HP with an air-gap intake. Single plane will make 25 more HP and sacrifice 10#/ft. of torque. Carb of choice is a 950HP 4150. 2" headers are recommended. Be sure you have changed U-joints and upgraded rear gears. Muncie 4 speed, use at your own risk. Ok with power brakes. 900 RPM Idle.

    These camshaft / lifter kits are perfect for use with BBC 454 to 470 CID with Air Flow Research 265 or 290 Oval Port heads to max of 6000 rpm. If you have built your teenage dream car and put AFR oval ports on it than there is no doubt this is the cam for you. We recommend a high rise dual plane with the center notched. An 850HP carb would be our choice with a good set of 13/4" headers. Don't worry about gear ratio, it will pull anything you put under it. Great with power brakes. Buy stock in tires. 750 RPM Idle.

    Probably one of the best kept secrets...the best engine builders use break-in roller rocker arms. With the extreme valve spring pressures racers use today, the initial run time can kill a camshaft in the first minute of running.

    The big time engine builders use these 1.3 ratio rockers to allow a run-in time for the camshaft, then the 1.3 rockers are removed and the normal rockers are reinstalled and the engine is ready to race or dyno.

    Polylocks are included.

    These camshaft / lifter kits are perfect for use with SBC 377 to 390 CID with Air Flow Research 190 to 210 heads. Max Power 6200 rpm, Peak torque 3600. This cam is designed for engines using 3.750" stroke with the AFR Heads and their high Intake the Exhaust flow ratio. This cam maximizes the power potential of these heads by taking advantage of the RAM Effect caused by piston velocity at low rpm. Increase header size of 1.750" is highly suggested to take full advantage of the power band of this camshaft.  Adding 1.6 ratio rocker will increase rpm to 6400. We recommend a 3000 stall, an 850CFM carb, and a minimum of 10:1 compression.
