      This sending unit for electronic speedometers has a .894" (7/8”) female attachment nut to attach it to the transmission or out-drive unit.  This is similar to the female threaded ring on mechanical speedometer cables. Most customers will need to purchase part number 66582629, square drive tip, to attach this sender to a GM transmission.

Owners and restorers of 1964 to 1966 first generation Mustangs can take comfort in the fact that there is now an electrical system upgrade from Painless to completely rewire this classic car. These Painless wiring harnesses feature many pre-wired connections and are color coded to make installation a snap.

      This 22 circuit direct fit 1965-1966 Mustang harness has many of the factory connectors already installed on the harness out of the box.  This harness uses our unique covered micro-fuse block.  Also featured is an auxiliary circuit with 20 amp relay for accessories such as fog lights, or an electric fuel pump. Each wire is custom printed with the circuit identification as well as using Ford color codes for easy installation.  NOTE: THIS WILL NOT FIT 1964 1/2 MUSTANGS

                  If, after installing an MSD Ignition Control, your ta­chometer, fuel pump relay or electronic fuel injection (in foreign vehicles) doesnt operate correctly, your ap­plication may require a Tach Adapter. This is due to the trigger signal not being strong enough to trigger both the MSD and the factorys components.There are a few Tach Adapters available and for more information see pages 152 and 153. Each Adapter is simple to wire in and will have your MSD and vehicle firing away in no time! If you are triggering an MSD Blaster, 5, 6, SCI, or 7 Series Ignition with its white wire or points terminal, you will need the PN 8910 Tach Adapter. The PN 8910 will correct the operation of most voltage-triggered tachometers or fuel injection systems that do not work directly off the tach output terminal of the MSD Ignition Unit.

This Adapter should also be used on current-triggered tachs (hooked in series with the ignition switch).
