    Iron Eagle Sportsman block for Ford small block engines are engineered to work with stock components. They are powerful, competition blocks that give racers the features they need, while still being affordable!

    Features:

    • Siamesed cylinders: Standard 4.125" cylinders can be safely bored to 4.185" diameter.
    • Scalloped outer water jacket walls improve coolant flow around the cylinder barrels to prevent detonation, extend engine life and produce consistent cylinder temperatures.
    • Ductile iron front and rear 2 bolt main caps with 4 bolt interior main caps. Rear cap uses standard one piece seal.
    • Main bearing diameters 302 (2.249") 
    • Stock components make Dart blocks a direct replacement for most production small blocks. Provisions for stock motor mounts, accessory drives, smog pumps, starter brackets, oil pans and pumps.
    • Upgraded low restriction priority main oiling system.
    • Reinforced head bolt bosses are blind tapped to prevent leaks and produce accurate torque readings. Extra thick decks prevent head gasket leaks.
    • Standard camshaft and camshaft drive can be used. Lifter valley has bosses for production hydraulic roller lifters.

    Performance engine builders know that head studs are superior to bolts, and this is especially the case on Flathead Ford and Mercury V8s. Flathead decks are thin and their threads are easily stripped. By installing studs, you avoid damaging the threads in the block through repeated use. The combination of the studs' fine outer threads and hardened washers also prevents galling and ensures accurate torque readings, particularly on aluminum heads.

    Original flathead pistons used four rings, were somewhat round, had questionable wrist pins and locks and were made of cast iron. These pressure-cast aluminum pistons share the four-ring design, but are cam ground and use modern steel wrist pins and real snap rings. They’re a great upgrade when rebuilding your 1939-1953 flathead Ford or Mercury V8 engine.

    Sizing based on original 3.188" bore. Fits .060" overbore size and 3.75" stroke crank. Sold as a set of 8.

                Install an ARP Small Block Chevy (SBC) head stud kit to enhance cylinder head sealing, ensure consistent torque values and help prevent damage to threads in the block. 

    All kits come with aerospace-quality nuts and parallel-ground, hardened washers.  Kits include undercut short studs that all but eliminate head gasket failure. Undercut studs have a narrowed area on the center of the stud shank. These undercuts add more tensile strength to the stud. 190,000 PSI.

    Not for raised runner heads.

    The Mahle PowerPak pistons are a race proven lightweight forged design that are complete with rings, wrist pins and locks. They are also completely phosphate coated plus feature an anti-friction Grafal skirt coating. PowerPak pistons are made from 4032 aluminum alloy to allow for tighter cylinder to wall clearances, and improved temperature stability.
