    Stabilize coil current and prolong point life with Mallory ballast resistors. Computer-wound to ensure resistance value. Premium ceramic bodies provide maximum durability and superior heat transfer. Recommended when a new coil is installed.

    Mallory Unilite distributors include self-contained modules that require a ballast resistor, loom resistance wire, or internally resisted coil (ex. when using HyFire CD Ignitions). Using a heavy duty porcelain resistor and threaded terminal connectors, this resistor is rated at 200 watts and 0.75 (cold) – 1.5 (hot) ohms.

    Just because you've got a vintage Flathead Ford V8 in your ride doesn't mean you're stuck with the antiquated charging system. Switching to a tried-and-true GM 1-wire alternator is a great upgrade for any Flathead-equipped vehicle with a 12-volt electrical system.

                This 1949-1953 generator cover has two holes to fit over the wire connector screws on the side of your generator. These generator covers include a stainless steel strap to hold the generator on it's bracket.

    So you've converted your Flathead-powered rod over to 12 volts and bolted a GM alternator in place. Now it's time to install the belt, but your engine pulley is 5/8" and the alternator is 1/2"!

    Don’t worry, Speedway has you covered. This alternator pulley allows the use of a 5/8" wide Flathead-style belt on GM externally regulated, SI and one-wire alternators.

It has the look of an original generator, but is really a 12-volt, negative-ground alternator that produces 60 amps at idle and 75 amps going down the road. This model is designed to fit 1949-1953 Ford & Mercury Cars and 1948-1953 Ford Trucks with Flathead V8s and features a simple one-wire hookup.

    We offer this one wire alternator in black painted or polished aluminum, and both include stock-appearing mounting brackets (the stock fan carrier bolts to that bracket) and pulleys that accept wide 5/8” belts.

    Dress up your Flathead generater without spending a lot of dough. Speedway's stainless steel generater cover is easy to install and is a sure way to add a little flash to your detailed Flattie. These covers have 2 holes to fit over the wire connector screws on the side of your generator.

    This 1942-1948 Generator cover wraps around the generator and has two small tabs that overlap each other. The cover is held in place by lining up the holes in the tabs and securing it with the small nut and bolt.

    This bracket offsets the generator to the passenger side (RH) on '49-'53 Ford Flathead V8s. A special water neck is included that helps to re-route the hose around the relocated generator. This bracket only fits a stock Ford generator, NOT a Powegen.
