The thick part on the shock stud is 1/2" thick so that the shock will be 1/2" away from the shackle plate.

The shock stud is actually all one piece, no spacer is used. The smooth portion where the shock will slide over is 5/8" OD and 1 1/4" long.

Spring Width? Will these fit my 2" wide posie super slider spring?

These shackles are for 1 3/4" springs typically used on lighter vehicles like T buckets and early roadsters, both too narrow and not designed to carry the weight of a full size pick up.

JayRohr62
The set I bought only fits 1.5" springs.

These shackles with shock stud are 2" wide overall but will only work with 1-3/4" wide springs.

DOes the shock stud go on the spring or the axle side of the shakle

The shock goes on the axle side, placing it on the spring eye end and you have a flexing joint (the shackle) between the axle and shock.

The shackle with the longer shock stud number 715175 has been used with the stud on either end. On our T bucket chassis the shock stud is on the spring pivot or axle side of the shackle.

Looks like these would work for me,except one point that bothers me. Seems like the 2 fastening nuts on each shackle would be close to the axle with the shock-stud aimed to the rear of the car. I've had a 4" dropped Speedway Motors axle since 1987 with regular shackles which are placed with the flat-heads toward the axle & fastening nuts to the rear. If I reverse this, I get very little clearance between the shackle plate & axle. How much clearance will I have with these?

Clearance cannot be verified on your specific application but you could solve the issue by using a shackle plate such as 91036120 and a shock stud or bolt for the shock.
