Worked as expected. Provided diagnostic insight.

June 22, 2015
The gauge set worked as expected. It allowed me to diagnose brake problems. Unfortunately I broke the gauge because the caliper is close to the upper control arm and the steering wheel was turned with the gauge installed. I'll have to see if I can source a new gauge. It would be nice if the gauge T'ed in so that the air introduced by screwing this in place of the bleed screw could be purged before taking a reading.
Pros:
  • Fits Many Calipers Easy
Yes, I recommend this product.

Several things could be causing your problems. If this was all new including the front brakes and booster kit you need to make sure there is free play in the pedal, a return spring on the pedal, and the booster push rod to the master cylinder is adjusted properly with some clearance and that the piston in the master cylinder is set up for power brakes. Instead of a deep bore in the piston is requires just a slight dish and clearance to the push rod about 1/16”. Proportioning valve needs to be designed for 4 wheel disc and if adjustable screwed all the way in for free flow when bleeding the brakes. Caliper bleeder screws need to be up for bleeding and many times on a new system you need to elevate the rear high as possible, tap on the brake lines all the way with a plastic handled screwdriver, and then bleed as normal. As you push the brake pedal slowly down you should see the fluid in the master cylinder go down and if not the master may be defective. After bleeding the rear let it down and raise the front in the same scenario. CPP also has a brake bleeding guide that helps in some cases.
