What's in the Box

There's nothing cooler than a TriPower on your small block, but man are the carbs expensive and hard to find! With this kit you can use three junkyard 2G small base style Rochester carbs and put together a three deuce set-up for a fraction of the cost.  Includes two rebuilt bases for the secondary carbs, gaskets, jets, power valve and modified piston, idle tubes, plugs, hardware and new primary throttle shaft and butterflies. This kit includes an adjustable progressive linkage kit.

Alot of $ for jets and plugs!

Im still trying to justify the cost! Rebuild kits for 2G's are $16 and speedway secondary base plates are cheap also. Just block off power valves and chokes on secondary's and $70 for linkage a few $ for extended throttle shaft and your done for a fraction of the cost? All parts in this kit are quality and work very nice..But think it's over priced

Instructions very well laid out, kit comes with all the essentials. I would advise you buy a carb kit (s) as this is not an overhaul kit.

worked great on my 354 Hemi, it took care of the leaks from the old base plates someone tried to make work. The whole kit works well.

Great kit,everything you need is included.instructions compleat the only thing sweeter would have been a dvd on the rebuild and an install with engine running for tuneing.

Makes it possible to convert old 2 bbls

I would only recommend this kit to a patient and knowledgable enthusiast or someone with a good bit of carburetor experience. I found it necessary to reset the butterflies in one of the baseplates. Throttle return springs are way overkill. When stepping on accelerator, feels like stepping on a rock. Full WOT is not always achieved as the linkage is deflected. Primary jets supplied were too big for my application. I started with 4 sizes smaller and may go a size or two smaller yet (mild 307 running at 3000 to 6000 feet asl). It would be nice to offer a kit that includes accelerator pumps and needle and seats for folks like me that started out with old 2 bbls that need rebuilding. But in the end, it made it possible to convert 3 old Rochesters for use as a tri-power system and performance, once I leaned out the center carb, is awesome! And boy does it look and sound cool!

This kit is for the small base Rochester 2G with bolt pattern of 3 ¼ by 1 7/8” and customers have stated that the 2GC series is also applicable. These were the early small block Chevy 2 barrels. The ones on the larger 348 Chevy or the Olds & Pontiac engines will not work.

Sorry we do not have an instruction sheet for the throttle linkage. We do have several pictures of the linkage installed from various perspectives on our website here. Once you get the front and rear adjusted so they operate at the same time adjusting the slide link to engage the secondaries is up to the builder for the RPM they kick in. If too soon or too late for your camshaft a slight dead spot in acceleration will be prevalent. Your engine internals and camshaft will dictate the fuel needs at a specific rpm and is a trial and error process.

I have been reading the reviews and it sounds like I will need more parts to get this all up and going. What specifically do I need in conjunction with this kit to have a running, functional tri-power with progressive linkage? Thanks

Buy 3 rebuild kits from your auto parts store about$16 ea you have floats with them, youll need this...

Speedway offers our tri-power base kit with linkage under number 91011569 which includes progressive linkage, the base kits for the front and rear carb and overhaul kits for the three carbs. Designed to work on the small base Rochester carbs with 3 ¼ x 1 7/8” center to center mount pattern for the 4 bolt base. Kit includes the new secondary base plates without the idle circuitry and extended throttle shafts. You will need intake gaskets, fuel line and fittings you prefer, and of course air cleaners if so desired. Other than what is mentioned it should be as complete as needed. We also offer the manifolds from either Offenhauser or Edelbrock.

It does, you use the original with extended throttle shaft and butterflies.

The car essentially runs off the center carb, so you need the original base as it has the air/fuel mixture settings. The outer carbs are your secondaries, they only come on when you accelerate hard. Essentially they are on or off. The bases that come in the kit remove the air mixture screws as you don't need them.

The reason is all carbs are 2G models,so you go to the bone yard and pick up 3,for your rebuild. The 2, used on the end don't use power valves just use your center section and your new bottoms are made to work on wide open so no power valveing is needed. On the sixpack you just drive around town on a 2 barrel. That's 250 cfm,aka good gas mileage.when you kick it you get 250x3 =750 cfm for your 389.

The kit comes with new secondary bases because they do not have the idle circuits in them. The center carb or primary carb still uses the original base plate with the idle circuits for proper operation.
