Could be better

December 30, 2015
The construction could be better. I think the hex cap would be better if it were machined to thread onto the vent tube instead of a set screw.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Could be improved tp be more universal

September 28, 2014
7/16X20 thread is kind of an odd size?? Does not fit the hole in a standard Ford 9" housing, which is probably one of the more common housing used. You could solve this problem if you included some threaded adaptors to fit all housing holes. I made one so I could use it on my Ford 9" housing ( 1/2X20 size hole). You owe me!!!
Pros:
  • Pretty
Cons:
  • not universal
No, I would not recommend this product.

Great Breather

I used the breather on my Currie 9" with a rear sway bar. Fits/works perfectly, clears the sway bar mount and easy to install. Very nice piece. It's a game to hide it under the car.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Will this fit in the stock hole on a ford 8" or 9" rear axle? I have a ford 8" or 9" rear axle with no vent on the housing. Will this breather screw into the stock hole on the rear axle ( it is on the driver side, top of the axle tube ). I need something to put into this hole without redrilling anything. Thanks!!!!

No, it won't fit. Housing hole is 1/2X20. I had to make an adaptor to be able to use it.

This breather has 7/16"-20 threads. Check the thread size in the hole of your rear end to be sure about fitment.

Thread type and size I'm assuming its NPT. What size thread? 1/4? Or? That info was not included in the specs. Mine is already drilled and taped.

Can the threaded part of the vent be lengthened? I need enough thread to go through brake line junction block then into the housing.

These breathers do not come in various lengths. It may be possible to disassemble the breather and have a machine shop fabricate a new inner stud for attachment as requested. This would need to be done by your local machine shop and a service not offered by Speedway.
