What starter to use with this? This flywheel has a different amount of teeth on the ring gear than the flywheel it replaces on most 2.3L fords(132 original-135 Ram flywheel). What starter works with the 135 tooth pattern flywheel from Ram??

A stock starter or our 2.3 Ford starter 91067461 will work with this flywheel. I am not quite sure why there is a difference in tooth count but standard 2.3 starters work just fine with this flywheel.

The ring gear is offset toward the engine block and should be in the same position as a stock flywheel so that your starter engages it properly. This flywheel is much thinner than the stock one so the distance from the clutch surface to the ring gear is less than a stock flywheel. This simply means that you will need to adjust your clutch linkage and/or throwout bearing length in order to compensate for the thinner flywheel. Sorry I do not have any photos showing a side view of this flywheel.

Total thickness of this flywheel is .645". At the center where it attaches to the crankshaft it is .325" thick and the minimum thickness from the clutch face to the relief cut on the back side is .280"

If this flywheel has less teeth than your old flywheel then it is not the correct one for you. The starter can not be changed to correct the issue. Your belhousing is made for a specific size flywheel and if you use a smaller flywheel the starter will not hit the teeth on the flywheel.

We recommend clutch disc 6051017 which has 1" x 23 spline. Also pressure plate number 60541122 works well with this flywheel.

No, this flywheel is designed to accept the smaller stock Ford size pressure plate. The clutch discs that are used with it are 8.5" in diameter. The pressure plate that would be used with this flywheel is our part number 605-41122. This flywheel and pressure plate use six (6) bolts spaced at 9.625" across.

What other clutch & plate will work besides the reccomended? Our rules state we cant use a racing clutch or disk, so I need one that atleast looks stock.......We can use Racing flywheel, steel or aluminum. Also need to know what Release bearing to use with this. Im using a Pinto Bell housing.

Pressure plates 60541122 or 890C1122P and clutch disc 60531203 will work with this flywheel. I am not sure what would be classified as a racing clutch about those since they are stock style components but you may want to consult your tech inspector for clarification. This flywheel is drilled with 6 on 9 5/8" and 6 on 8 5/8" bolt patterns. Nearly any pressure plate/clutch disc combo that has that bolt pattern will work with this flywheel.
