Why does the T-Bar have a slot and not holes like most shocks ? I own a 71 Chevelle and wish to get QA1 TS801 but have notice that the T-Bar has a slot and instead of holes like my old shocks. Also the hardware that comes with these shocks are the upper bolts and are 9/16" and my car has 1/2". With QA1 having slots instead of holes would it be more likely for the shock to move?

It has slots to fit more applications. Once bolted tightly in place rest assured no movement will occur.

This shock is not listed for pickup applications. It is 21" extended and 13.5" compressed. If the length and mount configuration matches the need of your pickup it could possibly be used however.
