Didn't Even Grunt Under the Weight of a 1954 Cast Iron Hemi

March 14, 2016
I have owned quite a few 3 leg engine stands and they have always made me nervous! I just brought home a freshly built cast iron Hemi from the machine shop which has been a labor of love over the past year. I didn't feel comfortable suspending it in midair with four bolts even if the stand was built like a Sherman tank, so when I bought this stand I was at first skeptical I could trust it. I was very surprised when I opened the box and saw what I got for the price. The stand was well made, and trust me I looked over ever weld carefully! It went together easily with good instructions and hardware in the box. I had it put together in 20 minutes and in no time was hoisting my engine from a wooden crate ready to mount it up. I did not have trouble maneuvering it between the legs of my cherry picker, and before I knew it I was ready for the new engine stand to take over. I let the pressure off the cherry picker and the chains went slack. The stand didn't break a sweat. Since that time I have been rolling my engine around the garage getting it ready for paint and final assembly. I would recommend this stand to anyone who needs a reliable way to get an engine off of the ground! Great product!
Pros:
  • Good Quality Hardware
  • Nice Paint
  • Easy To Assemble
Yes, I recommend this product.

Used two these to build a auto body roti

June 12, 2014
I used two these to build a small auto body rotisserie for my MG project. They were easy to modify and the price was reasonable.
No, I would not recommend this product.

With the square design of the legs I can't use my engine hoist. I would recommend this with the right hoist.

Good Stand, Decent Price

March 03, 2011
I purchased this stand to build an air-cooled Volkswagen engine break-in stand. I chose this model because is has a wide base & insures the motor will not tip over when running. The stand is sturdy enough for just about any motor & the metal is thick enough to weld if necessary. Good product for the price.
Pros:
  • Durable
  • Lightweight
  • Easy To Use
  • Versatile
Yes, I recommend this product.

Made in China...nuff said.

January 25, 2010
Made in China...nuff said! Assembly was easy although I had to go buy an extra nut and lock washer because the package of nuts and bolts had torn open and a couple escaped. Two bolts on the pre assembled casters on the front fell out almost immediately upon first use. Upright part of the stand is welded on at a bit of an angle! Where is the quality control??? It stands at a comfortable height...that is the one good thing I can say about this engine stand.
Pros:
  • Decent price
No, I would not recommend this product.
