Q & A

What's in the Box

Surprise someone special by building them a custom pedal car. Ready to paint and assemble. Turn it into a kid's personalized cruiser or super sleek race car.

This complete all metal kit comes with all the parts, hardware and assembly instructions you'll need to build a complete car and includes heavy duty solid rubber pedals, tires and front and rear bumpers.

The hub caps, hood emblem and steering wheel come beautifully chrome plated.

918-0009 Instructions (pdf)

Notes

Our most recent supply of these cars has arrived with the non-chromed components having an electrostatically-applied finish. This finish works as a very effective primer/sealer. This finish prevents rust or corrosion both in storage and shipment, as well as throughout the life of the car.

This powder coat finish does not need to be removed. Simply use a scotchbrite pad or similar fine sandpaper to "scuff" the finish, apply a wax and grease remover, then apply your chosen paint color. If the finish is scuffed adequately beforehand, you can even apply body filler directly over the top.

If you decide you like the powdercoat gray color, you could assemble the car as-is and it would remain just as corrosion-free as a normally-painted car.

Dandy!

November 29, 2011
Got this kit for my daughter and i to play with. Not a bad quality product, had to bore out some holes to get parts to line up. Don't like the "powdercoating." I thought the product was bare metal and was ready to be worked over for personal customization. Gauge thickness of metal is kinda floppy. Hard for the kid to pedal around due to the lack of crank stroke. stroke could be larger.
Pros:
  • Practical
  • Quality Materials
  • Figure Flattering
Yes, I recommend this product.

do you have seat available for this model

Ken
Hello, Thanks for your interest in our product line! We have a seat “cover” available in 2 styles: One has a quarter inch of foam padding sewn to the underside and covers the “bottom” of the seat area (where the child’s fanny would sit). This model is the 918-00231-PAD. The other model is a single-thickness of automotive vinyl with a seat “pattern” stamped into it. This model covers the bottom of the seat and continues up the backrest area by 3”. This is our part number 918-00231-VNL. Either style of cover can be had in Black, White, Blue, Red or Yellow. Either style of cover is typically held in place with a couple dabs of silicone adhesive (RTV), weatherstrip adhesive, or a sheetmetal screw. If the metal part of the car body is damaged and needs replacement, it is quicker, cheaper and easier to simply get a different pedal car. Please consider our 918-0009. I hope this addresses your concerns. Please feel free to contact us when you wish to place an order or if you need further information. Thank you for choosing Blue Diamond Classics®! Do you offer custom wheels for this kit?

Answers

Ken
We offer the same style of wheel in a chrome finish (see part number 918-94062), or consider our “Artillery” wheels (part number 918-94047 or 918-94048). We do not offer “go-kart” wheels or any form of “billet aluminum” wheels for the pedal cars. I hope this addresses your concerns. Please feel free to contact us again if you need additional information or you wish to place an order.

Sorry, but the parts are too narrow and the tires are too big. The cars will not turn and the rear axle it is also too narrow. We suggest that you use the original parts that we offer under the Murray Flat Face or find another car for donor parts.

they are suitable for an average-sized child from about 2.5 or 3 years old up to around 7 years of age. The pedal car itself will be about 42” long and 17” wide.
