Super quality front axle

December 24, 2013
This is a nice axle. Installed on a Model-A Hotrod project. It's a '29 chassis with a '27 Model-T roadster body, and sports '31 Model-A running gear (banger motor, 3-speed, and banjo rearend). I wanted a front axle that i could trust to look good, and be straight, strong, and true, and the Bell axle delivers. The axle, along with other mods gets the front down where it looks great. Definitely recommend this product.
Pros:
  • 100% confidence that the axle is correct/true
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a 1929 model a 5 window coupe my axel measures 49 inches from kingpin center to center and the perch holes are 39 inches apart. Do you have a way to tell me what this axel is from? I am interested in a 4 inch axel but not sure which one is correct.

On the 28-34 the commonly used axle was 46” kingpin centerline to kingpin centerline and these had 34 3/8 to 34 ½ perch centers. If running a full fendered Model A this will keep a fairly good sized tire inside the fenders. 48” were common also and depending on application could also be used. Over the years many axles were replaced and several variances have turned up. You may be interested in our part number 7022850 or 7022852 both in 4” drop. The 46” will require a 29”+ spring and the 48” a 31”+ spring. We offer springs to work with either axle.

You can use any spindle from 1928-1948 with this axle. You will use whichever kingpin kit the spindle is from. I'm sorry to say that we dont sell the correct kingpin for the 1936 spindle. In addition, if you desire to put a disc brake kit on the spindle, you must use a 37-48 spindle
