Steering column pigtail kit lets you use factory-type connectors on your key-switch-equipped GM-style column.

This kit is used to make the connection from the wiring harness to GM and Ididit columns. It can be used to replace damaged or worn plugs. The supplied GM color-coded wires are 12" long, so you'll have plenty of room to splice to your harness.

Includes:

  • ignition connector
  • turn signal connector
  • dimmer switch connector
  • pre-terminated 12" pigtails

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

As with most Painless Wiring products, I feel that the item was overpriced. That said, I knew that there were cheaper products that were the same out there but chose to go with this kit because it came with all 3 harnesses, with other suppliers I would have had to buy them seperately and I chose convenience. As for the product, I found the instructions to be terrible. It decodes the wires, but doesn't specify whether power is supposed to be going in or coming out at each connection. A little clarification would help...or a wiring diagram. All the long skinny harness has letters embossed on the top to help tell you where each wire is supposed to be inserted. This is a good idea, but some of the letters are shifted and you might skip a port. Pay close attention when inserting the wires into the harness. This could be avoided if Painless would have just put the wires in the connector themselves. All in all not a bad product. Worth $50+? Not really. I think a more fair realistic price for this item would be in the $35 range.
