Part number 56013953 In most cases the studs in this kit will require shortening to match the heads being used. They are normally long enough to be used with the offset alternator bracket number 5601093.

I just recieved these studs and started putting them in my block and relized there are two different lengths and i am going to purchase the offy heads for my 1952 and would like to know if these need to be cut to length or can you let me know where they g

The 10 bottom studs on each side are shorter. Watch them wobble as you thread them in and see that you will probably need to install them with the head already on as they are probably not straight!!! Good luck!!!

Part # 56013953 The studs in this kit will need to be cut to the length dictated by the heads you are using. In some cases with cast iron heads there are up to 4 different stud lengths necessary. Between the cast heads and the aluminum heads from different manufacturers the stud length required changes. We caution the installer to torque to the manufacturers of the heads used to the proper torque values and sequence.

Flathead Cylinder Head Stud Kit
(Part #91015310)

Performance engine builders know that head studs are superior to bolts, and this is especially the case on Flathead Ford and Mercury V8s. Flathead decks are thin and their threads are easily stripped. By installing studs, you avoid damaging the threads in the block through repeated use. The combination of the studs' fine outer threads and hardened washers also prevents galling and ensures accurate torque readings, particularly on aluminum heads.

  • Studs utilize superior "pull down torque"
  • Properly fastens and torques both aluminum and iron heads
