What's in the Box

Info

Offenhauser Dual Carburetor Chevy 194, 230, 250 and 292 intake allow you to run a Big 6 without the hassles and cost of the GMC. Manifold provides a nostalgic appearance while equalizing fuel distribution to all cylinders, improving both performance and economy. With this lightweight cast aluminum manifold, your inline six will be more responsive across the RPM range.

Accepts two OEM (Rochester B or BC) 1-barrel carbs like the original on your 1963-1975 straight 6. Manifold comes with a non-progressive linkage kit.

Notes

Note: This intake manifold is designed to bolt up to the heat box on your original exhaust manifold. Exhaust heat must be routed to the bottom of the intake to help keep the fuel droplets suspended in the air/fuel mixture, providing better cold weather performance and overall driveability.

If using split manifolds or exhaust headers, you must still supply heat to the bottom of intake using a heat box that you fabricate. This can be done by routing either exhaust heat or engine coolant to the bottom of the intake via copper or steel tubing.

If you are not mechanically inclined you will have to get someone to build linkage. "There are too many linkage combinations for us to provide a suitable linkage for your specific application."

Beware

July 22, 2012
The intake manifold was what I expected and of good quality. The linkage however, Is poorly engineered and nearly useless. I used the correct carburators as the instructions suggest. I spent many hours fabricating a usable linkage with some parts from the offy kit. I called Speedway and got no suggestions other than I may have to "tweek it". Offenhauser offers no tech help on their web site.
No, I would not recommend this product.

The Weber carbs will NOT fit the manifolds for the 6-cyl. The manifolds are designed to accept two of the original style 1 bbl carbs. You would need to provide your own adaptors to mount the Weber carburetors, which are 2-bbl carbs with a much bigger base than the 6 cylinder Chevy.

The 250 was used in GM pickups until 1984 and this intake could be used along with two of the original style carburetors. It has built in hot air warmer for bolt up to your original for better cold weather idling.
