What's in the Box

These Offy flathead Ford heads are finned for high heat dissipation, bigger water capacity for "built" engines and everybody knows, nothing beats a full-dress flathead for beauty! Heads have a .400" valve relief.

3-5/16" bore, 4" stroke = 9:1 compression ratio
3-5/16" bore, 3 3/4" stroke = 8.6:1 compression ratio.

These aluminum heads carry slightly different torque values as compared to the cast. We have a chart from the Edelbrock heads that shows the common flathead torque values for studs and also bolts and the torque sequence. Care needs to be taken to do this in a 3 step process. For Offenhauser values you may want to contact them on their tech line.

Could you tell me what the head thickness is, where the head bolt hole is at. Is there 1 size thickness or two.

The Offy heads for 49-53 Fords have (two) thicknesses at the bolt bosses. The thickness at the ‘lower’ bolts is app. 1-3/8”, the thickness at the ‘upper’ bolts is 2”. The heads for 38-48 have (one) thickness, app. 2” at each of the 24 bolt holes.

I'm sorry to say we do not offer that version of the offy cylinder heads.

My question relates to the correct spark plugs for these heads. I have Autolite 216 spark plugs. The "Thread Reach" appears to be much shorter than the thickness of the head (spark plug threads). Is there a "better" spark plug choice ? Specs. on this "Flattie", 1946 1/8" over bore, Isky 77-B cam,Offy heads and tripple manifold with super 97 carbs
