October 07, 2014
This is a bad design, the lining is thin and easy to damage when trying to fit the ferrule between the brading and inner tube for the banjo fitting. Now I'm out the money I paid for it and have nothing to show for it.
Cons:
  • inner teflon tube too thin and easy to damage
No, I would not recommend this product.

great product....and worth yhe cost

July 10, 2014
would like to say how pleased I am with your GOTTA SHOW power steering hose kit,...I tried to use the "cheaper kit"....and could never get them to seal properly, and they are really hard to try and route them where you want them, (really stiff) these S/S braided hoses are much easier to work with, and the design on the fittings are great ! and more important....they seal the first time....the cheaper set I had on and off 4-times, and they still leaked,....the extra $40 bucks for the ''good stuff' " reinforces the old saying...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
Pros:
  • fittings still swivel after they are tight
Cons:
  • they seem pricey at 1st
Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy and cheap to use but quality limite

June 02, 2014
An easy way to solve an expensive problem...the only thing is the quality. One of the fittings came with radius cracks all around the sealing area. The best thing was that i got it from Speedway, and they took care of me instantly, with no problems and no delays. If you need one, go for it, just make sure you check it out well before you install it.
Pros:
  • cheap
  • Nice looking
Cons:
  • suspect quality
Yes, I recommend this product.

Worked as described

March 30, 2012
I installed the hose set on my T-Bird/Cougar rack and a Ford pump. The banjo bolt made the installation clean and easy. Very easy installation, although cutting the brading and installing the collar & nut can be a little tough for anyone not experienced. This hose set is NOT stiff like the black high pressure hose set I initially tried to use.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Easy To Use
  • Versatile
Yes, I recommend this product.

"Not as hard as it looks"

February 03, 2012
Don't be intimidated by having to put on the ends. If you take your time everything goes right together, and looks real good when you're finished the installation. A small metabo with a cut wheel is a must for cutting back the stainless braiding.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Durable
Yes, I recommend this product.

Nice kit!

January 20, 2011
This kit was used to fit a T-bird rack into my 53 F100 with MII suspension. Deciding where to route the hoses and cutting them is the hardest part. I used a regular hose clamp on the return line as I couldn't get the chrome plated plastic one onto the hose-no loss here! For the most part, this is Plug-n-play!
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Versatile
Yes, I recommend this product.

Can I get a rack & pinion power steering hose kit for a 1994 Mercury Cougar V8

There are 2 different style fittings on the racks. one it inverted flare (us spec) & the newer 'o' ring Metric style. I believe that the box you are working with is the newer Metric style. You did not say what type of pump you are using. Again these have either inverted flair or Metric. GM vs Ford style pumps have different size fittings & styles of fitting depending on the flare vs metric. Gotta match them up & it will work fine.

Jason
We apologize but do not have a braided hose kit listed for the Cougar application. You may want to contact Gotta Show for availability or if you know the fitting size on the rack and on your pump we may be able to provide the needed hose length and the fittings required for you to assemble as desired.

THIS HOSE KIT WILL CONNECT MOST 84-88 T-BIRD & 79-93 MUSTANG RACKS TO THE TYPICAL GM PUMP WITHOUT BUYING ANY ADITIONAL PARTS. IT INCLUDES A BANJO/BOLT ASSY FOR THE PRESSURE CONNECTION TO THE PUMP. THE RETURN LINE CONNECTS TO THE HOSE NIPPLE ON THE BACK OF THE PUMP WITH A CLAMP. THE INCLUDED RACK FITTINGS IN THIS KIT ARE ONE EACH,16MM OR 5/8-18, AND ONE EACH 14MM OR 9/16-18. THESE FITTINGS ARE ENGINEERED TO WORK WITH EITHER METRIC OR STANDARD THREAD. THE BANJO BOLT INCLUDED IN THIS KIT MAY SEEM TOO SHORT, BUT IT'S DESIGNED THIS WAY. THE BANJO BOLT IS SHORT ENOUGH TO WORK WITH O-RING OR INVERTED FLARE STYLE P/S PUMPS. THE PROVIDED CRUSH WASHERS COMPRESS 50%, WHICH WILL PROVIDE THREE THREADS OF ENGAGEMENT ONCE TORQUED. THIS WILL FIT THE 82-88 T-BIRD RACK/PINION # 91034340-POW AND P/S PUMP #S 91032922-GM 91032908-BLK & 91032908-CHR

You inquired about our power rack and pinion for the Mustang II style front ends and the one we offer is in reality an 82-88 Thunderbird rack. Using this allows the customers to run a GM style pump with normally no valving changes. If you have an original Mustang II, Pinto, or Bobcat cross member then the bolt spacing is specific to how the car was produced. If you have an aftermarket cross member you may want to check the passenger side mount as it may be slotted to work with either bolt spacing. This is the case with our cross members and the majority of the manufacturers. You can see what I am referring to by looking at the photo of our cross members in our catalog or online. The drivers side mount will stay in the same location with either rack. Only option on an original cross member is to alter the passenger side mount location. We do NOT offer power racks in different dimension and you would need to check various suppliers to see what is available.

Will this hose kit fit T-Bird rack to a p/n910-32922-GM?

Will this hose kit fit T-Bird rack to a p/n910-32922-GM?

This hose kit will work with the Mustang II or T bird racks with the 14mm O-ring pressure port and the 16mm or 5/8 O-ring return port. On the pump the banjo fitting is designed for the same 5/8 or 16mm fitting and the return is a clamp on style with custom cover. On the pump in question the 91032922-GM it now has AN6 fittings on both inlet and outlet. You could remove the AN6 adapter fitting on the pressure side and the banjo fitting in the kit would work. On the return side you would need to order a fitting in either straight, 45 degree, or 90 degree to put on the braided return line. The TFE style line requires the appropriate TFE fitting in the desired configuration.

Power Steering Hose Kit for 1982-88 T-Bird Steering Rack to GM Pump
(Part #91032535)

Our standard power steering hose assemblies are an inexpensive alternative to the more costly stainless steel braided hose kits. This set adapts a 1982-1988 T-Bird/Cougar rack or our 91034340-POW rack to a GM style pump. Return hose will normally need to be cut to length.

The pressure line in this kit has an inverted flare fitting at the pump end along with a 14mm O-ring fitting on the rack end. It also comes with an adaptor so that it can work with an O-ring style (metric) pump fitting. We suggest using power steering pumps 91032922-GM or 910-32908.

Kit includes:

  • Adapter for the GM pump, to allow it to work with both metric O-ring and standard inverted flare style threads on the power steering pump fitting.
  • The fittings that go into the 1982-1988 T-bird rack which are 14mm O-ring (high pressure) and 16mm O-ring (low pressure return) with the smaller O-ring fitting hose end being the pressure side for the rack.
