What's in the Box

Heat treated forged steel spindle that retains stock factory geometry. Direct replacement for 1974-1980 Pinto/Bobcat and 1974-1978 Mustang II. Uses all stock rotors, bearings, calipers, etc. Stock height.

Notes

  1. The Mustang II spindle has been used in street rod applications for years. As such, many brake kits have been developed for them. One can get kits with rotors of 9-1/2", 10", 10-1/2" or 11".
  2. Caliper choices are full size GM, orginal Ford, GM Metric or Wilwood. Bolt patterns are available in 5 x 4-1/2", 5 x 4-3/4", and 5 x 5".
  3. The biggest brake kit we offer for this spindle is #91031943, with 1969-1972 Chevelle 11" rotors, full size calipers and standard Chevy 5 x 4-3/4" bolt pattern.

Mustang II 2 Inch Dropped Steel Spindles
                        

Our Mustang II spindles are constructed from 1045 heat-treated alloy steel. Retains absolute stock factory geometry and uses all stock rotors, bearings, calipers, etc., making it easy to install.

Note: If using OEM caliper brackets, slight modification of the spindle and/or the caliper bracket is required. (Additional clearance between the spindle and caliper bracket is required.)

11 Inch Ford Disc Brake Rotors
                        

This disc brake rotor was OEM on:

  • 1975-1980 Ford Granada
  • 1974-1977 Ford Maverick
  • 1977-1980 Lincoln Versailles
  • 1974-1977 Mercury Caliente, Comet
  • 1975-1980 Mercury Monarch

NOT interchangable with rotor 91031067. If you have the brackets and adapters designed for the Granada rotor, the GM rotor 91031067 will not fit. Very common rotor to use as a conversion rotor.

Heavy Duty Wilwood Black Gold Disc Brake Kit for Mustang II
                        Weather you are running a Model A or a 1948 Ford, we have the kit for you. These kits use only the best components to give your Mustang II equipped car the stopping power and good looks you demand.

These kits feature anodized aluminum hubs with 5 on 4-1/2" and 5 on 4-3/4" bolt patterns, bearings, seals, aluminum brackets, 4 piston calipers, brake pads, hardware and 10-3/4" rotors.

The heavy duty kit is recommended for 1937-1948 full size cars and uses a 0.81" thick vented rotor.

If using steel wheels with this brake kit Wilwood recommends the use of  #8353007500 shims to keep the aluminum hub from being damaged.

NOTE: Using this brake kit on aftermarket 2" dropped spindles will require that the customer drill and tap one 3/8 x16 hole in each spindle in order to mount the caliper brackets. No modifications are required when using on stock or "stock style" non dropped spindles.
Mustang II Disc Brake Rotor, 5 on 4-3/4 Inch
                        Vented stock 9-1/4" diameter brake rotors for 1974-1980  Mustang II, Pinto, or Bobcat spindles (or Speedway brake kits using  '49-'54 Chevy spindles). Brake rotors are new, not plugged or re-drilled. Has a  5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern with corresponding 7/16" diameter fine thread  wheel studs.

Be sure to install new bearings and seals (910-31000) with your new disc brake rotors.
11 Inch Mustang II Rotor with GM 4.75 Inch Bolt Circle, Metric Caliper
                        This rotor allows the use of GM Metric calipers along with a GM car bolt pattern. Vented stock 11" diameter brake rotors for 1974-1980  Mustang  II, Pinto, or Bobcat spindles (or popular GM Metric calipers and brackets). Brake rotors are new, not plugged or re-drilled. Has a   5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern with corresponding 7/16" diameter fine thread   wheel studs.
