These are just like the stock Mustang II used on top of the front coil spring to eliminate noise and binding.
Upper Spring cushions are used by vehicle manufacturers to isolate vibration and road noise from being transmitted to the chassis. Many aftermarket Mustang-II IFS kits don't include these cushions, but they are essential if you are going to drive your vehicle much. Place the cushion on the top of the spring, put some masking tape in a couple places to hold it in position while you install it.
