I Could Not Get This To Work

June 27, 2011
I tried everything to get this product to work without success. It would not pull enough vacum to move the fluid/air through the lines. After about 1 hour of trying I went back to the old method "my wife". It's not worth sending back - lesson learned.
No, I would not recommend this product.

A one man bleeder that worked

March 31, 2012
I used this product to bleed the brakes on my T-Bucket. It took me a little time to get use to seeing bubbles in the line continually during the bleeding process. The bubbles were apparently coming from around the threads of the bleeder which is expected when using vacuum. It did get the job done with minimal effort.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When there is about 1 1/2 inches of fluid in bottle

You can stop when you see no more air bubles in line. Test pedddle for proper feel, continue to blled if not satisfactory.

Are any of the fittings compatible with metric calipers? also my issue is eventhough the hose may be sealed tight to the fitting end how can I stop leaking around the threads? I assume theres not much one could do for that..

Sorry this does not come with adapter fittings to fit a metric caliper. You will simply slide the clear hose over the bleeder screw an loosen the bleeder to use this vacuum bleeder. To reduce leakage around the threads of the bleeder during bleeding you can wrap the bleeder threads with thread tape.

Wilwood 290-0632 570 Brake Fluid, 12 oz Bottle
(Part #8352900632)

Wilwood's specially formulated Hi-Temp 570° Racing Brake Fluid has a minimum 570 degree dry boiling point to withstand the severe heat requirements of automotive racing. Hi-Temp 570's low viscosity allows easy bleeding of your brake system, eliminating aeration of the brake fluid caused by foaming due to excessive pumping of the pedal.

This high temp brake fluid comes in a convenient 12 ounce container hermetically sealed to guarantee against unwanted absorption of moisture which can drastically lower the fluids boiling point (fluid from larger containers tends to become contaminated with moisture, lowering its boiling point and making it unsuitable for racing applications).

  • Dry Boiling Point:  573° F
  • Wet Boiling Point:  313° F

Wilwood 290-6209 EXP 600 Plus Racing Brake Fluid, 500 ML Bottle
(Part #8352906209)

EXP 600 Plus is a highly refined blend developed for extreme performance under the high heat and extreme pressure of professional motorsports. EXP 600 Plus has been tested to 626° F with a wet boiling point of 417° F. These numbers far exceed any DOT or SAE specifications.

It is true that racing brake fluids need to have high boiling points. It is also true that fluids need to have low moisture affinity to slow the natural absorption rate of water vapor. But the true test of any high temp brake fluid is how well it resists aeration and compressibility after it has been heated and pressure cycled a few hundred times. The real test is at the track. EXP has been proven to maintain firm pedal feel and quick response, long after others have failed.

Note: For optimum performance, EXP 600 Plus should not be diluted with any other brake fluids. Add new fluid to a clean system.
