The Mahle PowerPak pistons are a race proven lightweight forged design that are complete with rings, wrist pins and locks. They are also completely phosphate coated plus feature an anti-friction Grafel skirt coating.

Ford Ford 2300cc (3.78" bore x 3.126" stroke). A 1.5mm, 1.5mm, 3.0mm file fit performance ring set is included. Uses .927" wrist pins.

  • Forged piston for performance applications
  • Fully-machined crown
  • Grafal anti-Friction coating on skirts
  • Phosphate-coated to reduce micro-welding and pin galling
  • Pin bores binished on CNC boring equipment
  • Deburred
  • High strength, light weight steel pins

This piston is for a 2.3 block that you are going to use. 5.7 sbc rods. These will not work with a stock 2.3 rod.

Can I upgrade to the Total Seal rings? In the catalog, there is a $20 difference, so can I upgrade to the Total Seal rings for an extra $20?

Sorry, the rings are packaged with pistons from Mahle and they do not offer the Total Seal ring option.

The Mahle pistons include conventional rings. We do offer Total Seal rings seperate if needed

What is the difference be tween the Mahle and Icon that changes the compression ratio? they are both flat top pistons with only 2 valve relief,s. is the compression height different, or does 1 come farther up or out the cylinder...Thanks....Jerry

We do have some incorrect info on this Mahle piston. This piston will provide 10.7:1 compression with 52cc head, 9.8:1 compression with 58cc head, or 9.2:1 compression with 62cc head. The Icon 474946 piston will provide 9.3:1 compression with a 60cc head or 8.9:1 compression with a 64cc head. The Mahle piston has 2cc of total valve relief and the Icon piston has 2.5cc of total valve relief. With the larger valve relief of the Icon piston it will be just slightly lower on compression. Both pistons are 1.090" compression height.
