If you have a slightly taller block or have decked the heads, the distance between the distributor mounting pad and the cam gear/oil pump drive may be different. MSD offers these Distributor with an adjustable slip collar with 1.5” of adjustment so you can be sure the distributor is installed correctly. The distributor shares the same features of the standard Pro-Billet Chevrolet model including a ball bearing guide, long sintered lower bushing, oil seal, and an adjustable mechanical advance assembly. The maintenance-free magnetic pick-up in the billet base of the distributor triggers the MSD CD Ignition box (not included). Fits Small Block or Big Block Chevy V8.

You can't go wrong with the best selling MSD Billet Distributor! The housing is machined from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminum on a state-of-the-art CNC machine producing exact tolerances. For high rpm stability, a .500” steel shaft is supported by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and resistance to corrosion. A precision machined reluctor is attached to the shaft which triggers the magnetic pick-up mounted in the housing. This high output magnetic pick-up is the most accurate way to trigger your ignition. Plus, with no moving parts to wear or adjust, the pick-up is maintenance free! Just above the pick-up is MSD’s adjustable mechanical advance assembly. Different springs and stop bushings are supplied so you can tune an advance curve to match your application.

What makes or breaks a plug wire is not only how well the wire is insulated, but how low of resistance the center core has. These assembled wire sets test 40-50 ohms per foot, while most others test 1500 ohms per foot.
These low resistance spark plug wires are designed for Small Block Chevys with HEI and are routed under the headers.

The MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Wire is "the" performance wire. Engineered from the inside out, the 8.5 offers everything you have ever wanted in a wire; incredibly low resistance without electronic interference! In a single 12 inch length of low resistance spark plug wire there is only 40 - 50 ohms of resistance! That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire.
To accomplish this, MSD uses a copper alloy conductor due to it's great voltage carrying capabilities. The low resistance results in less loss in spark energy so more reaches the spark plug. The conductor is wound extremely tight around a special center core. So tight in fact, that there is over 40 feet of conductor wrapped into a single foot of plug wire. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) "choke". This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. The outer sleeve that surrounds the conductor assembly is just as impressive. A proprietary blend of silicone and synthetic material produce a sleeve that is highly resistant to high heat as well as abrasion and tears.

MSD molds their most popular distributor caps in-house. This cap is injection molded from DuPont Rynite material and features spark plug-style terminals. The terminals offer improved locking connections and the Rynite material is extremely strong with excellent dielectric properties. Plus, most caps have an optional wire retainer that is supplied with these caps to lock the wires in place.
Includes a girdle for retaining the wires to the cap. MSD has used this new design on many distributors built since the summer of 2002. Has HEI-Type terminals, rather than socket-type. Can be used in place of the older design.

These rotors are designed with high rpm and performance in mind which is why they are standard on most MSD Pro-Billet Distributors. Both rotors are injection molded from Rynite material for incredible strength and high dielectric properties. Plus the stainless steel/brass rotor trip is also screwed in place so it can handle extreme rpm and high heat conditions.
The rotors feature deep molded vanes to stir up the air inside the cap to prevent spark ionization. The rotor screws are set deep in the housing to prevent spark scatter.
