What's in the Box

Info

This linear actuator controller limits exactly how far the actuator moves. It can be programmed to move the actuator to any of three determined preset positions and features an indicator light that shows for each of these custom presets until unit is currently positioned. Once programmed, the display unit can be removed to add three momentary switches (not included) to make the actuator move to the preset positions at the flip of a switch.  This linear actuator controller is designed to be used with a 12 volt actuator.

  • Limits exactly how far the actuator moves
  • 3 programmable settings and 3 negative inputs
  • Indicator light
  • Controls (1) actuator
  • Designed to be used with a 12 volt actuator
  • Intended for use with our actuator 910-64290
  • Controller kit includes:
    • Central control unit
    • User input display
    • Two wiring harnesses
    • Mounting hardware and instructions

Needs more info in description

April 15, 2010
Does not state in description that the limit feature only works with actuators with built in potentiometers. For 2 wire actuators it only controls motion with no stop points, the same as a simple toggle switch.
Pros:
  • For mated actuator
  • Control
Yes, I recommend this product.

Works as advertised!

Doesn't come with all wiring harnesses needed for installation. It also doesn't come with a schematic showing what the missing connections are. I would not recommend this to anyone electrically challenged.
Pros:
  • Great price
Yes, I recommend this product.

I need to be able to control the actuator with a polarity reversing momentary switch but want the actuator to return back to the center position(mid stroke) of actuator. Would the controller return the actuator back to a center (mid stroke) position when the momentary switch was let off (de-energized).

This controller will program the unit to 3 preset extensions and then you can remove it and add your momentary switches for these preset dimensions. To return to a different preset length the other switch would need to be tripped to make it return to another length. You could have minimum, maximum, and in between as the three different lengths if so desired.

This controller is meant to be used with one actuator. Trying to run two off of one controller does not work and you always end up with one ahead of the other. One controller that would operate two actuators would be difficult as if one actuator draws more current than the other it would lag behind. Your best bet is to use two controllers and then set the presets the same and operate at the same time. This would make both of them end up the same place even though one may be slower than the other.

Once programmed, can the control display be changed out for a 3 position (single input, 3 output) toggle switch? The question really is does the switching have to be a momentary ground, or will a continuous ground to the desired input (position) work as well?

The unit requires a momentary switch that operates to furnish the signal to the actuator and would not allow a switch that maintains a constant ground until another position is required. On a 3 position switch it would need to return to center or off once pressed.

You may want to check with the supplier as listed on our website in the purple print pdf or call the tech line there at (800) 831-4145. We currently do not offer a remote for this actuator.
