What's in the Box

Many rodders are looking to install Chevy’s powerful and efficient LS1 / LS6 Small Block V8 in their street rods, customs and classic trucks. These shorty headers can make those installations easier in a variety of applications, and help produce more power as well.

An oxygen sensor bung is included with these block hugger headers, but not installed, for those who want to keep the engine’s electronic fuel injection. Includes bolts, gaskets, and reducers.

  2. Note: To allow maximum clearance, these headers require the use of our 916-18016 motor mount adapters. They will not fit when using the OEM LS-Series motor mounts.

Sorry we do not offer a tube to fit these headers. You would be best off having a local exhaust shop bending a tube for you or you can make one from some of the bends that we offer. We have U bends 91013867 or combo bends 91013896.

Part # 9300114 With possible variations between builds we do not offer a direct application. These headers DO require our motor mount adapter plates in order to obtain the necessary clearance under part number 91618016. Dimensions of the headers for measuring your application are as follows: From head surface to furthest out point of tubes is 4”. Top of flange to bottom of the collector is 11” Collector ring sits within 1” of the block and is located in the center of the two center exhaust ports.

I was reading that these wouldnt fit oem motor mounts . I have a 1940 chevy that I'm putting a 4.8 vortec ls engine in, ive purchased a mustang II front suspension and motor mounts for this project and have installed the same . I'm having a clearance problem for my steering column and am wondering if this would need the adapter that you mention in your description because i'm trying to make room for my steering column

Yes you will need to use the motor mount adapters 91618016 which then allow you to use an early Chevy V8 motor mount such as 91018012. Clearance for your steering column and steering shaft will be questionable with these headers. These headers extend out 4" from the exhaust flange of the cylinder heads. Take some measurements for clearance to be sure that these will work for you.

These billet aluminum adapters allow you to put an LS1 where a S/B Chevy would mount. They bolt to the sides of your LS1 and accept standard S/B Chevy mounts. Metric and Standard hardware included.
