Q & A

What's in the Box

The technology of LED replacement blubs has come a long way the last few years. The problem is that they have gotten so efficient, that even electronic flashers that once worked, now don't. So now we offer a new flasher made specifically for LED bulbs. These flashers do not need a grounded connection.

Notes

  • This flasher is polarity sensitive
  • It has two terminals: 'L' and a '+'
  • The 'L' terminal must be the wire going to the 'lights'
  • The '+' terminal must go to the 'battery'

Led flasher

June 09, 2015
I used the EZ wire harness in a 1950 Studebaker truck. I used LED lights in the rear. Flashers were slow and intermittent. Called tech line and they recommended LED flasher. The pig tails were there because they are directional. I just reversed the wires and everything works perfect. I am very satisfied with this product. Thanks again Speedway
Pros:
  • Use Pigtails
  • they work great
  • They Are Directional
Cons:
  • No instructions
Yes, I recommend this product.

Speedway takes care of it's customers!!!

October 26, 2014
I love everything about Speedway; I have been ordering parts from them for years. My 52 Chevy hot rod pickup has their wiring harness, their headlights, their LED turn signals front and rear, and hundreds of dollars worth of other parts. When working on my turn signals, the only problem I encountered is that when running LED turn signals front and rear, they won't flash without a dummy load resistor or the flasher that I ordered. When I called tech support, who is extremely helpful and always professional and courteous, they informed me that I needed the flashers for LED signals that I ordered. They didn't work and when I called back after installing them, I was told sometimes they do and sometimes they don't... not sure I fully understand that one. I was told I needed the dummy resistors instead. Again this was my first negative experience in years of service! Customer service was wonderful; they walked me through how to return the part and gave me a full refund including shipping. I feel they went well above and beyond to satisfy me as a customer... for a 30 dollar part! I will continue to order from Speedway and I will continue to use their tech support when needed. Wiring problems are a headache for many people, and even though there was a misunderstanding in this one instance, Speedway, did everything right to remedy the problem. Thanks again. W.Hale
Pros:
  • customer service is awesome
Cons:
  • part did not work as described
Yes, I recommend this product.

flasher is silent when flashing, poorly

May 17, 2014
Purchased two of these, one for turn signals, one for emergency flasher. On one unit the plastic housing broke apart simply pushing the flasher into the socket. Installed the other in the turn signal socket by using the provided wire extensions. The lights flash, but there is no sound when the signals are working. I prefer an audible click so that I am reminded the signals are on. As replacements, I purchased the dummy load resistors and am hoping for better luck. This is a freshly built street rod with all led signals.
Cons:
  • waste of money
No, I would not recommend this product.

Fast and Easy to use

Changed out rear bulbs to LED and needed new flashers. This one worked right away when plugged in. The bonus was no third ground wire needed like other electronic flashers which always requires additional steps.
Pros:
  • Easy Installation
Yes, I recommend this product.

This flasher made my led turn signals flash without an additional resistor, however it is silent.

These electronic flashers solve the problem resulting from the installation of LED lights for the turn signals. They are a timed flasher and do not rely on current draw to cycle. With these you will not need to use the dummy loads or load equalizers to make an LED turn signal system function. Make sure you match the flasher to your wiring requirements and the LED flashers do not work with some aftermarket turn signal assemblies. If in doubt please call and ask to visit with a tech.

Yes. I have LED rears and conventional front signals. It works fine.

Part number 91064110 Normally a timed flasher is not needed if there is a standard bulb in the system. With a combination of standard and LED bulbs and the lights come on but do not flash you could add this LED flasher. In some instances the timed flashers are not compatible with certain turn signal switches and in those cases you will need to install load resistors or dummy loads to simulate current draw and then use the standard flasher.

If your 08 Silverado has the same two prong plug in configuration as our part number 91064110 it should work with your existing or upgraded turn signals. It is a timed flasher instead of a current draw flasher keeping the signal sequence at the same rate.

1156 LED Tail Light Bulb, 1 Inch, Red
(Part #91131020)

These LED tail light bulbs put out the light you're after, but don't get hot like normal bulbs. 1156 bulbs have the pins straight across and a single contact on the plug. The bulbs appear to be clear, but are red when illuminated.

LED bulbs are quite efficient and use such small amounts of power that a normal flasher will not work correctly. The use of LED's will almost always require the use of a special "low load" flasher like our 910-64110 (2-prong) or 910-64112 (3-prong.) LED lights require so little “juice” that the conventional flasher can’t cope.

These LED bulbs are made to serve as a conversion replacement for old damaged or missing original bulbs.  They essentially work the same but with greater quality and brighter, clearer light. They can be used as a running light, a brake light, or both.

  • 12 Volt Bulb
  • 1156 bulbs have the pins straight across and a single contact on the plug
  • Red when illuminated
  • 1" Diameter
  • Efficient and use such small amounts of power
  • Requires the use of a special "low load" flasher like our 910-64110 (2-prong) or 910-64112 (3-prong)
1157 LED Tail Light Bulb, 1-3/4 Inch, Red
(Part #91131024)

These LED tail light bulbs put out the light you're after, but don't get hot like normal bulbs. 1157 bulbs have staggered pins and 2 contacts on the plug. The tail light bulbs appear to be clear, but are red when illuminated.
