Q & A

What's in the Box

These LED tail light bulbs put out the light you're after, but don't get hot like normal bulbs. 1157 bulbs have staggered pins and 2 contacts on the plug. The bulbs appear to be clear, but are red when illuminated.

LED taillight bulbs are quite efficient and use such small amounts of power that a normal flasher will not work correctly. The use of LEDs will almost always require the use of a special "low load" flasher like our 910-64110 (2-prong) or 910-64112 (3-prong.)

Will Not Fit 41-48 Chevy Housing

August 14, 2015
I actually spoke with a Speedway Tech and asked if these bulbs would fit Speedway part number 91137042, which is a standard 12 volt 41-48 Chev housing. He said it would. Nope, it won't. Too short to engage pins. Now I am out the $13.44 it cost to ship it here plus the cost of shipping it back. I expect the Speedway Techs to know the product line. If you aren't sure, go to the warehouse and check. This really does frost me.

wanted them to work

May 10, 2011
when I tried to install the bulbs I found they did not fit the older (1975) bulb sockets on my Chevy truck . Too bad as they would have done a great deal for road safety especially in Phoenix traffic .
Pros:
  • A good saftey tool
Yes, I recommend this product.

How bright are these? How bright are these? I want to use them as tail lights for my motorcycle but want them a lot brighter than standard bulbs and I only have a small amount of space to put them so can't go bigger, thanks.

These are LED replacements for an 1157 bulb. Many of our customers use these in older vintage applications where the lens is really dark and the standard bulbs are not bright enough for good visibility at distance. We have had many customer comments stating the improvement in light output over the standard bulbs which should help in your application as well.

A special low-load flasher (such as our 91064110) or a pair of “dummy load” resistors( 91003030) will almost always be needed. LED lights require so little “juice” that the conventional flasher can’t cope.

No this bulb will not fit that LED tail light assembly. There is no replaceable bulb in that tail light assembly. It is a circuit board LED tail light.

LED Flasher Unit, 2-Prong
(Part #91064110)

The technology of LED replacement blubs has come a long way the last few years. The problem is that they have gotten so efficient, that even electronic flashers that once worked, now don't. So now we offer a new flasher made specifically for LED bulbs. These flashers do not need a grounded connection.
