When installing the cap the head of the bolts will be inside the tank and the nuts on the outside of the tank. For venting we recommend a rollover vent like our part number 458364. You would then want to route the hose to a point where fumes will not be a problem.

Part number 91076050 Customers normally mount the fuel cells in the small pickup bed behind the T bucket body. These cells are offered in different dimensions and capacities to meet customer needs and we also offer the aluminum fuel tanks under numbers 715750 and 715752.

It was mentioned that the hole was drilled "in the side, in the center". Which side? For instance the 16 gallon tank is 25" long 17" wide 9" deep On which side is it drilled?

There is only the one 3/8" injection mold hole. It is located right in the center of the 17" wide face of the tank.

For remote fill there are several options. For a fender fill type kit you may want to check out 458359 in conjunction with 458357. For vertical mount you could use 91676550 and fill cap number 91012521 or 6179040. The last two numbers are fill caps and will require a reducer hose or using one hose inside the other as a spacer for a tight seal when making the connection. Or you could use a flush mount fill neck such as 91076510 along with one of our billet fuel doors for a custom in trunk or bed application.

This fuel cell does not come with the cap, a part number of 91076510 (Aircraft style cap and neck) would be a cap suited for the fuel cell.

Depending on how thick the tank is, that might work but the best way to do it is to use a bulkhead fitting with sealer capable of handing what ever type of fuel your going to run

Jason
It's not recommended to try and thread. The best way is to mount fittings from top using sealing washers with bulk head type fittings.

How would I go about plugging the hole in the 9x24 side? Is there enough room to mount a remote filler on the top left between the mounting strap and the side of the cell? Also are the dimensions of the cell rounded up or rounded down (as in it actually measures 23 15/16 but they round up to 24 or its actually 24 1/8 and they round down to 24)?

The hole can be plugged off with a plug such as 61760181 along with nut 61761881 and a sealing washer 6179061. You should be able to mount the filler in the corner between the strap mount and the edge of the tank as long as the filler is not overly large. The dimensions of this tank are actual measurements. All measurements have a tolerance range of +/- 1/16"

To install the fuel gauge cut the hole in your chosen location, then mark the location of the screw holes and drill and tap the holes. Install the gauge with the gasket between the gauge unit and the tank. If you feel that there needs to be a more substantial method of attachment, you can fabricate a plate to install on the inside of the tank. Just make a metal circle drill and tap holes into it as corresponds to the gauge unit. Cut a 1/4" wide gap in the circle with a hacksaw, then fish it into the tank being careful not to drop it into the tank. Once the ring is inside you can carefully fasten the tank unit into place. I know this is awkward, however it can be done. If you don't wish to fabricate a ring for the inside we do have tank units available (such as Pt # 45811240) that have a ring included. There are several available for different depth of tanks. Be sure that you pick one that will be about 1/2" from the bottom of the tank if you choose to do this. You will still have to split the ring with a hacksaw.

We offer a filler connection 91676550 which you will need to install into the tank in the proper spot for your installation. Also we offer filler hose 395201 as well as fuel door 91090103. Sorry we do not offer installation of these items. You will need to install the filler neck, fuel pickup tube, vent, etc. into this blank fuel cell.
