What's in the Box

Info

Here's the solution to painful, tiring impulses that the roadway transmits through your steering system. Each end accepts a 3⁄4" DD shaft to allow inline installation between steering column and steering box.

A steering shaft support heim is recommended near the dampener for the most stable installation. Bright, nickel-plated steel construction. 3⁄4" DD female on one end, 3⁄4" DD male on the other.

Approximately 1-3/4" O.D. and 4" long end-to-end. Adds approximately 3-1/2" to the length of the shaft.

Do you carry an inline vibration dampener with 3/4" DD & 3/4" 36 spline? If not...do you know where we can find one. Thank you for your time.

Sorry we do not offer an inline dampener with 3/4" x 36 spline and do not have a good suggestion of where to find one. You may want to contact Sweet Manufacturing to see if they could custom build such an item.

I have massive engine vibrations being transmitted to the cab, ... Do you think this would help cut that down? Vehicle is a 1993 Chevy 2wd with a 4bt Cummins, mounted with GM factory engine mounts. Most all of the vibration in the cab and interior seems to be transmitted thru the steer shaft and column.

Massive engine vibrations in the cab are typically due to worn engine mounts, the engine/transmission contacting the body or some other part of the vehicle where it shouldn't be, a rough idling engine, incorrect flywheel or damper causing the engine to be out of balance, etc. You would be best off determining the source of all the vibration and fixing that problem. This may help slightly with some engine vibration if it is indeed being transferred through the steering shaft but I highly doubt it will solve your problem.

Part number 91032253 THIS STEERING VIBRATION DAMPENER IS APP 1-3/4"O.D. AND IT IS 4"LONG END-TO-END. (IT ADDS APP. 3-1/2" TO THE LENGTH OF THE SHAFT) THIS DAMPER IS 3/4" DD FEMALE TO 3/4" DD MALE This will help eliminate the direct steering gear or rack to steering wheel feel. Something similar to an OEM rag joint with the rubber disc helping absorb vibration and solid metal to metal feel.
