Good product has a lower profile than most boot,which makes a better fit when the spindle is installed. Does not have a tight fit at the base had to use Permatex to hold it in place.

This boot will fit on the stud of that ball joint ok but the large OD of this boot will not work like the stock boots do on those ball joints. Sorry I do not offer a replacement boot for this ball joint.

OD is approximately 3-1/8", 2" tall and fits over a 5/8" pin.

The boot you mention will fit on the stud of your balljoint, but it will not “seat” on the base of your balljoint like your original would have. However, since it is typically a “tight fit” between the control arm and the spindle, the boot will normally be held in position pretty well. It will certainly be better than running a balljoint with no boot at all.

  1. This ball joint uses the Ford taper found on Mustang II/Pinto spindles. Common on IMCA Modifieds.
  2. This ball joint will NOT fit the stock taper in a 1963-71 GM truck spindle. To use this with GM-type spindles the upper taper must be reamed with reamer 910-89411.

  1. These ball joint use a 1973-95 GM Truck taper, but they have a longer (taller) stud than the stock GM part. The taller stud changes the pivot point due to its length, which in turn raises the car's roll center. Very common ball joint on IMCA Modifieds.  
  2. Lower ball joint fits most stut cars, 1971-1976 Impala and most wide-type dirt cars. Press-In.
  3. Fits most popular racing and passenger car spindles.
