Can this shaft be threaded out to 5/8" - 18 thread to use as a steering drag link?? I need to bend one end of my drag link to clear the bottom engine pulley on hard turns so I need a new drag link I can play with. Will this tube work for me? It's about a 40 degree bend about four inches from the pitman arm.

No this tubing is too small to thread 5/8"-18. We offer 5/8" tie rod tubes that are pre-made as part number 91631 and also in a custom length as part number 91631-999.

These hollow steering shafts are ¾” O.D. and have a .120 wall thickness. If machining or threading for steering wheel attachment care is advised as not to limit the wall thickness too thin for safety consideration.
