Notes

Why go with tubular control arms? The most obvious reason is the looks. Tubular control arms and strut rods give your hot rod a much cleaner and hi-tech appearance than the stock type do. Another bonus is that the tubular control arms are available in 5/8" narrower than stock, which helps tuck the wheels up under the fenders without having to buy expensive special offset wheel. When using 5/8" narrower control arms, 1" must be removed from each inner tie rod end.

Zerk fitting is no good

March 18, 2015
I recommend this product ONLY IF you have a 1/16th pipe tap. If not you will have a very nice set of A arms with no way to grease the ball joint. Even worse than that its an open hole to the bearing area. I found this out after I installed them of course. I bought the Speedway lower arms a few months back and had a little trouble installing the ball joint but that was it. Maybe save yourself some money and buy the speedway set There is no thread for the zerk fitting. It will not self tap. I used a 1/4-28, but its far from right since the thread needied is tapered and its a completely different thread count, it just lets me get a little grease in there and keeps the dirt out. Its a shame, everything else is very well done
Pros:
  • Well Made
  • save your money and buy the speedway set
Cons:
  • no easy way to fill the grease fitting hole
  • zerk fitting hole needs to be tapped
  • the business end of the ball joint cant be greased
No, I would not recommend this product.

No these do not use stock bushings. You would have to get replacement bushings from Heidts for these control arms.

The Mustang II control arms are available in standard length and 5/8” narrower for the narrow cars. They are not available to order in custom lengths and for that application we recommend a fabrication shop for a build to your specifications. The pivot point on the rack needs to be inline with the pivot point on the control arms so care needs to be taken when substituting dimensions as steering geometry problems along with bump steer arise.

Part number 41334320 These stock width upper tubular control arms can be used with stock OEM lower control arms. We also offer the Speedway version under part number 91034320. Both use screw in ball joints and in some instances it may be necessary to space the castellated nut to the control arm because of variation in stud diameter.

Heidts CA-101-N Mustang II Tubular Upper Control Arms, 5/8 In Narrower
(Part #41334326)

You dont have to look any farther for tubular control arms for your hot rod. Tubular control arms give your hot rod a much cleaner and hi-tech appearance than the stock stamped steel arms. • 1" diameter tubing
  • Fixture welded
  • Screw-in ball joints
  • No-squeak bushings
