Those other super bright, super high powered taillight bulbs may be easy to see, but they also generate enough heat to discolor your lens and burn paint.

Halogen bulbs are brighter than standard bulbs, but use less energy, which means they burn cooler. 12 volt only.

This bulb is shorter than an 1157 bulb and measures only 1-3/4" from bottom to end of tip. From pin to tip is 1-1/2".

Very bright bulbs. They even show up in bright daylight through my blue dots.

Brighter

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The running light are definitely brighter. Great for at night in my '39 tail lights. The brake lights are only marginal brighter that the running lights. I am not sure if people behind me can tell when I step on the brakes at night.
