I bought this to mount 410-1057 banjo wheel to a flaming river column 715-201. When I mount the adapter there is a 3/8 inch gap between the adapter and the front edge of the column. Is this normal? I have not put the nut on yet and I don't want to force it on.

The adapter will press on and should not have much more than a .125" gap
