Really good product, but has compatibili

September 20, 2014
First off, Speedway is OUTSTANDING. From start to finished they worked with me on my order and any problems that I had. I'm a soldier, and was deployed when I placed my order, so it was a couple months later before I could work on my car. When I did, I had a couple issues and instead of giving me the "Oh it's been too long" line, they gave me the "Oh yeah, we can and will help". VERY nice. The brake lines themselves were of really good quality. I was very impressed with them. When I put them on the car, they leaked where they connected to the hard line. I figured, well, 40+ year old car, probably time to replace them. Thankfully, I had ordered a new stainless line from "someone else". Go those lines installed and BAMB! They leaked again. Contacted Speedway and received a "You bet, well send you new ones and pay to have those shipped back". Got the new ones, was excited to put them on and, guess what....Leaked again. Called and talked with Speedway again, this time with a tech to try and figure out what in the heck is going on. We couldn't figure it out and they sent me a new set while they tested the first two. Got the third set. Leaked. Sent them back and received a full refund. I contacted the company that made the new hard line I had installed, ordered a set from them (at roughly the same price). Got them. No leak. No understanding or reason why. The new lines are identical to the stock lines. AND, when Speedway received the other lines, they put them on their "test machine" (what ever that was) and said they did NOT leak for them. So, everyone is a little confused. Lesson learned - When ordering brake lines, order the ENTIRE set from one manufacture. Over all though, Goodridge is a GOOD set. They sell THOUSANDS of these things with no problems. Just something odd on mine setup.
Pros:
  • company is very easy to work with
  • Good Quality
Cons:
  • didn't seem to be compatible with my setup. ymmv
Yes, I recommend this product.

Part # 6178567 These lines are for the mid-size GM cars and the length of the front lines are 16” and the rear 14” which may be too short for a pick up application. Verify the length of lines needed. The caliper fittings are 7-1/ x 20 and the female on the front are 3/8 x 24 IFF. ¼” line runs to the rear and the female on the line is 7/16 x 24 IFF and the T has 3/8 x 24 IFF.

Wilwood 290-0632 570 Brake Fluid, 12 oz Bottle
(Part #8352900632)

Wilwood's specially formulated Hi-Temp 570° Racing Brake Fluid has a minimum 570 degree dry boiling point to withstand the severe heat requirements of automotive racing. Hi-Temp 570's low viscosity allows easy bleeding of your brake system, eliminating aeration of the brake fluid caused by foaming due to excessive pumping of the pedal.

This high temp brake fluid comes in a convenient 12 ounce container hermetically sealed to guarantee against unwanted absorption of moisture which can drastically lower the fluids boiling point (fluid from larger containers tends to become contaminated with moisture, lowering its boiling point and making it unsuitable for racing applications).

  • Dry Boiling Point:  573° F
  • Wet Boiling Point:  313° F
