What's in the Box

Stock clutch hydraulic throwout bearing for stock-style 3-speed and 4-speed Chevy clutches only. Install simply by replacing one bolt from the front of the transmission with one of the provided studs, then shim to fit. Use 3/4" bore master cylinder.

This bearing is made much smaller than the racing version so that it will fit behind the "thicker" stock style clutches. This redesigned new housing is much cleaner as it has no boss on the body. Plus, this design also has a retainer on it to prevent over extension and seal damage.

GM Stock Clutch Hydraulic Throwout Bearing Instructions (PDF)

Learn more about hydraulic release bearings and how to properly install them by reading our tech article. How to Install a Hydraulic Throwout Bearing.

Application

910-25610 Bearing typically used with:

  • All OEM and OEM replacement clutches
  • Jerico 2-speeds
  • Saginaw 3-speeds
  • Muncie 4-speeds
  • Saginaw 4-speeds
  • Borg-Warner 4-speeds
  • Jerico 4-speeds

WILL NOT work with:

  • B-W T-5 transmission without alteration of the bearing retainer (nose cone). (See GM T-5 bearing kit) Will not work with the Ford type T-5.
  • Ram Coupler
  • May not work with racing style clutches because of limited extension on our hydraulic throw out bearings. The travel on our 910-25610 is .688" inches.

Notes

  1. The fittings are AN 4 male for the "feed" and the "bleed" lines. Both fittings are tapped internally to accept the bleeder.
  2. To build your own external bleeder for this bearing, purchase (1) each of the following parts:
  •  835-2200063 (1/8"BLEEDER)
  • 617-4025 (AN4 to 1/8"female)
  • 91031842-4 (12" AN 4 line)

Not bad but, could be better.

June 30, 2015
I purchased one of these units about 2 years ago and it leaked from day one. And altho is wasn't a lot of leaking, it was making a mess under the car. After about 1,200 miles, I changed transmissions and decided to rebuild this unit so it wouldn't leak anymore. That rebuild lasted 1,100 miles and it blew the seals out of it leaving me stranded. I again rebuilt the unit and it poured out fluid immediately. Rebuilding this unit is a pain in the butt and the flimsy, thin o-rings don't do a good job of sealing. Since then, I have purchased a RAM 78125HD hydraulic throwout bearing and it is a FAR more substantial unit and much beefier o-rings and even a further travel distance .800 compared to .668 of this bearing. For the difference in price, do yourself a favor and go with the RAM clutches bearing.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Leaky

February 26, 2014
Installed on a Saginaw 3 speed Trans. Started leaking after 2 weeks. Just checked fluid before I'd take the car out.. Also had to modify my aluminum bell housing to keep from fraying the cable. Considering going back to external slave cylinder
Pros:
  • great smooth pedal feel
Cons:
  • leaks like the titanic
No, I would not recommend this product.

Merchant Response:

Please note that Speedway Motors is not able to warranty a unit after 3 years from date of purchase, as this item was purchased on 1/28/2011. We however offer a replacement o-ring kit for this bearing under part number 910-25619. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and would be happy to replace the unit if it was purchased within our 1 year warranty time frame. We hope this helps and if there are any questions, please contact us at 800.979.0122 for further assistance.

Life saver

July 27, 2012
Works great with my OEM style of racing clutch. The shims that are included are a life saver. Easy to install. Only two cons. First off the screw in stud was the wrong thread count. Had to buy a ball stud and weld an extension onto it. Secondly, you cannot bleed these outside of the bell housing. This must be done after everything is installed. Needs longer bleeders and fittings.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Easy To Install
  • Durable
  • Provides Smooth Shifting
Yes, I recommend this product.

Not good

June 22, 2012
The first one leaked out the front seal and was difficult to get blead but we got it to work and it stopped leaking,so a year latter when I had the trans out I installed another new one and it leaked worse than the first one, fluid runs out of the bellhousing as fast as you can pour it into the master. I've tried to get it to pump up and have used 1.5 quarts of fluid so far. Back to the garage to take it out again. The seals need a redesign.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Good quality, works well

June 04, 2012
This one part replaced the stock throwout bearing, clutch fork, and heavy clunky linkage in my '75 Camaro street stock. Installation is easy, but pay close attention to setting the lash as described in the instructions. I would tend to set it a bit loose since it will tighten as the friction disc wears. I didn't even bleed mine, just pumped the pedal and slid the bearing back and forth on the bearing retainer and it came in all by itself. Now that's easy!
Pros:
  • Easy Install
  • Good Quality
Yes, I recommend this product.

No this will not work with a Quarter Master or any other brand 7.25" clutch. You will need throwout bearing 910710100 or 91025602 for your clutch.

This throwout bearing has a 1.375" ID so the bearing retainer on the transmission may need to be machined smaller if you want to use this one. Also you should check for how much room you have for a throwout bearing between the fingers of the pressure plate and the flat surface of the bearing retainer on the transmission. This throwout bearing is 1.71" fully collapsed. I do offer a very similar bearing that is shorter at 1.52" fully collapsed that we use for GM T-5 transmissions which is part number 91025612. Other that the collapsed and extended lengths the two throwout bearings are very similar.

We recommend this throwout bearing to be used with a 3/4" bore master cylinder. You could use a 7/8" master cylinder with it but it will take more pedal effort by the driver.

The GM stock clutch throwout bearing has a limited 6 month warranty. Because of the type of product this is, the warranty is affected by the use and/or abuse of the part.

Hydraulic throw out bearing number 91025610 works with many transmissions but we do not have the truck transmission dimensions available. You will need to compare these dimensions to insure fit and also that you have the multi finger diaphragm pressure plate. Compressed Length - 1.710" Extended Length - 2.390" Inside Diameter - 1.375" (1 3/8") Travel - 0.680" Outside Diameter - 2.875" (2 7/8")

Your product writeup says "for stock-style 3 and 4-speed Chevy clutches only". Seems like it should work on any GM with a stock diaphram type clutch and bellhousung, with the transmissions listed. Will it be OK with an Olds 455, stock bell, 11" OEM clutch

Our T-5 throw out bearing is for GM-style Borg-Warner T-5 transmissions using an OEM or OEM replacement clutch.
