Available options include machining of the yoke to accept Chevy/GM U-joint (add 91048339) and lightening of the ring gear to remove weight (add 91600013; 5.37:1, 6.66:1, 6.83:1, 7.00:1 ratios are already lightened).

WARNING: Circle track racing applications require a minimum of 4 qts. of rear end lube. Using less than this amount will lead to immediate pinion failure which voids all warranties.

Our completely NEW 9" Ford third members start with an aftermarket heavy-duty cast iron carrier featuring a new cast iron Daytona pinion support and larger bearings. Then we use your choice of a standard (8.9 lbs.), lite (6 lbs.) or megalite (5.55 lbs.) steel full spool.

Each is available with your choice of 3.50:1 to 7.33:1 gear ratio ring & pinion. Also includes NEW bearings and Viton high-temperature seals. Professionally assembled for oval track race use and shipped in a re-useable plastic storage case.

Lose the RTV silicone! With Fel-Pro reuseable third member housing gaskets, you don’t have to worry about applying an RTV and waiting for it to set up to seal. In addition, installing precut Fel-Pro gaskets helps eliminate the risk of contaminating the differential housing with RTV.

Gaskets have a steel core and non-stick coating.

Lubrication Engineers SAE 90 Weight Gear Oil, 1 Gallon

                        Whether you're running a stock flattie and rearend or hopped-up overhead and quick change, you need to run a good gear lube. Remember that your rearend was designed fifty plus years ago and needs all the help it can get. 

The biggest improvement you can give it is a lubricant that will allow the gears to survive the highway speeds that cars see today. L.E. gear oil is what we use in our 350 mph streamliner, that uses a V-8 quick change, without failure. The "red stuff" provides superior lubrication for long gear life. You can't win if you don't finish. We suggest 90 weight for the street and 140 weight for extreme uses.

Rear Axle Breather, AN4 Bulkhead

The pleated high efficiency breather comes with an AN4 bulkhead fitting and nut. AN4 fitting is 7/16 x 20 thread. Filter has hose clamp to tighten lower rubber flange to bulkhead fitting. Rubber lipped base of filter accepts 1/2" fitting and can be adapted to a 1/4" pipe nipple if desired. Can be used on various applications with appropriate plumbing components.
