What's in the Box

If you dont want to spend an arm and a leg on a rear disc brake kit and still have to weld the bracket on, weve got you covered. This kit includes bolt-on caliper brackets, 11-1/4" vented rotors, 78-88 GM metric style calipers, brake pads and hardware.

  • Fits both 5 on 4-1/2" and 5 on 4-3/4" bolt circles
  • For Ford passenger car axles ONLY 
  • Fits axle with maximum flange diameter of 6-1/4" O.D.
  • For 15" and larger wheel applications ONLY

NOTE: This bolt on brake kit is designed to be used on 8" and 9" housings using 3/8" retaining bolts. If you want to use it on a 9" housing with 1/2" bolts, you will need to use the 3/8" hardware to do so. Fits "old" and "new" style big bearing (3.150" bearing O.D.) Ford housings and with axle offsets of a minimum 2-3/8" to 2-1/2".

  • Axle housings with minimum axle offsets of 2-3/8" to 2-1/2"

This kit will NOT work on pickup housings or the 50's 9" housings as they only have about 2" backspace. The exception would be the late 50's station wagon rear ends.

When using with a Currie Axle with an o/d register of  2.795", the rotor is included in this kit with an i/d register of 2.78" and therefore will need to be machined by increasing the hole diameter in the rotor to match the Currie axle spec of 2.795"

when useing currie cut to fit 31 spline axels, the rotor center hole must be open up aprox. 1/16 inch to fit over the axel center.

9 Inch Ford Bolt On Brakes

For my application I converted the housing ends of my 8.5" GM 10-bolt to a Moser Circle Track Axle Package...so I needed an easy to install package...this is it!!...and, the guys at Speedway were able to line me up with all the other pieces needed to complete the install...even with my application it was an amazingly simple install...highly recommended...

Yes we offer the brackets separately. The brackets are part number 91031981 and you will also need bolt kit 91031981-2. If you need caliper slide bolts also they are part number 8352300542.

The Lincoln Versailles rear ends have the 9” old Ford housing flange pattern most of the time that would work with the brake kit. The axle offset of the kit is for either 2 3/8" or 2 ½” of which you will need to verify. If less than the 2 3/8" it would require modification on the installers part as needed.

No this will not fit a 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern. Sorry I do not have a rotor that fits your application.

The axle flange and offset on many of the Econolines was the pickup version which makes it not applicable for our bolt on disc brake kit. On our website enter the part number 91031902 in the search window, click search, click on the first photo for the main page and once there scroll down to the purple print axle flange identification and the bolt on kit works on both the early and new style Ford rear ends with 2 3/8 or 2 ½ axle offset. Compare to your application to verify fit.

The rotor id is 2.78" on this 9" bolt on rear disc brake kit. This kit will only work on axle off sets in the range of 2-3/8" to 2.5". Some early 50's Ford rear axles have less than 2-3/8" off set.

These rear brake kits feature 11 ¾” diameter rotors and work with many disc brake applicable wheels. With the addition of the caliper to the diameter of the rotors you will need to check the I.D. of your wheel where the caliper will meet to verify you have at least 14” of available space.

This line kit would be used to connect from "hard" lines on the rear axle to rear disc calipers when changing from drum to disc brakes. DOT approved brake line kits include two stainless steel -3 AN brake lines with the banjo fitting installed, banjo bolts and washers, 3/8"-24 IFF frame adapter fittings and frame tabs with clips.
